I don't believe someone can see someone for the first time and just 'fall in love" with them like that. However, I do believe that it is called lust or attraction, but no love. Love is a very strong word. I believe an attraction can last forever.

Nope. Such foolishness. Only person I know that can love someone, even without seeing them (from birth) is Jesus.

No one else has that kind of love.

If one 'thinks' they are in love at the first sight of a person, either does not know what love is or is infactuated. Probably both.
Infactuation isn't a good basis for a long lasting relationship.

"Love at first sight" is another name for infactuation. But infactuation is such a horrid word. So people use "love at first sight". Sounds nicer.

Love at first sight, I thought love was blind :D . No I don't believe in 'Love at first Sight', cause I think Love requires taking at least a second look :D . Love is like a flower, it begins as a seed that needs to be watered, fed, nurtured, and protected from the bad elements, and then to your surprise and astonishment, a beautiful flower full of vivid colour has blossomed like you never imagined. I say dont rush love, and that perky overwhelming feeling that you have when you first meet and are attracted to someone, Mmm well that's just a bit of lust and tension :icon_mrgr

No, but there are people who confuse love with infatuation. But since none of us can give a strict definition of love, I guess one could experience love at first site (by thier own definition).

Love at first sight no

Attracted to someone at first sight yes :) I think you need to know the person first before falling in love with them.

ok Thanks to everyone. So if love at first sight doesn't exist or has not been proved to exist, do you really believe that love can last or rather that true love does exist, apart of course from divine love?
I' m asking those questions because it seems like nowadays everybody seems to look for their lost half, the person they are 'meant' to be with. And I am kind of tired with all those theories. So what do you think?

i think true love does exist. pertaining to love at first sight now, i believe that u can meet someone for the first and sense something special in that person, something that u like. then by spending quality time together knowing each other more u may grow to love that person.<infatuation at f.s,yes. attraction at f.s,yes. like at f.s,yes. but love at f.s, i dont think so.

I believe that there are different levels/types of love.

Now the love between man and woman I dont believe can happen at first sight.

Love requires a whole hearted belief. If you can believe at first sight, then it can happen.

I guess I am a hopeless romantic.

who determines what level of attraction is love? i believe that we truly care about people enough to tolerate them for a period of time a definately not at first sight.

Love at first sight I for one don't think it's possible. but then love is relative as mentioned earlier so maybe just maybe I am wrong. most people can't define love hell...
