The West Indies cricket team is under fire again, this time from a representative from their major sponsor, Digicel.

Richard Nowell, the Digicel representative who accompanied the West Indies team to the VB series in Australia had expressed his disappointment with some of the players. He actually gave the WICB a confidential note about his concerns which somehow managed to leak out to the Trinidad Guardian Newspaper.

Nowell commented that most of the players had spend time receiving women's phone numbers as he recalls hearing the voice of women comming out of the players dorms while in Australia. He also stated that the top players contracts with Digicel's competitor, Cable and Wireless resulted in him feeling alienated. According to him, they have no access or relationships with the top players like Lara, Sarwan, and Gayle (all of which have contracts with C&W). With this in mind, he can't utilized the full rights of the Digicel sponsorship agreement.

President of the WICB, Roger Brathwaite and Digicel chairman, Denis O'Brien met sometime this week to discuss this issue.

Meanwhile, the West Indies Players Association (WIPA) is expected to file law suits against the Trinidad Guardian Newspaper as well as Richard Nowell.
