Here are a few Bahamian terms and phrases, for those not familiar:

Wha sweeten ya mouth, ga bitter ya tongue- What brings pleasure now, will bring displeasure somewhere else.

When ya play wit puppy, it end up licking ya mouth- When you mess with someone long enough, you will get what you wasn't looking for.

I gern fix dey business- You are going to deal with someone harshly.

big eye-Greedy

Bungy -Hips

Solid-Refers to a woman with alot of meat and a rounded shape

Jitney-Bus, Public transportation

Cut a**- -A good beating

Sweetheart-The other woman; the mistress

Pushin off ya mouth-Be bold verbally

Hard head bird don make good soup- Refers to unruly children, who will soon learn the hard way, the error of their ways.

some of ur slangs are similar to ours(jamaica). good to go B MAMA. the wording sort of differs.

Yes you will find most Carribbean terminology and slang, can be found in most of the islands. The only difference would be a few words here, and there, and of course the pronounciation.

Well a Trinidadian first coined that term in a soca version of "Who Let the Dogs Out", and we just made it world renowed, but hey we can take the credit :icon_mrgr

BM im not sure if u familiar with the term but what is a WIBE

my bahamian friends on messenger use it often ....not really getting it

It is just the word 'vibe' with a w. Bahamians sometimes replace the 'v' in words with a 'w'. Like 'vomen', 'vulgar', etc. The term wibe is commonly used among younger Bahamians.

If I say 'What's your wibe?', I am basically asking you 'What is your problem?'
