Ok here is a game I thought up. Lets pretend we are some where in the world (country or island or even a state in the USA). Pls don't do a parish in Jamaica since most non Jamaicans wouldn't be familar with our parishes and vice versa. I say State in the USA since many of the US states are famous for one reason or the other.

Ok to figure out where the person is you have to look at the clues given. The first person to give the correct answer will be the next person to go.

Here goes...this should be easy:

A country famous for their time piece.

Lawd dis one make me sweat! Funny thing I wanted to say Malta after I had replied with the Cyrpus, but I did not find any info regarding Malta and the Crusades on the web, oh well. The Maltese islands are an archipelago in whichonly three of the larger islands are inhabited: Malta, Gozo, and Comino. They are situated in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea. Okay hopefully this next one wont be as difficult:

Ok here is what I know about Mount Rushmore. As Ramesh stated, it's in South Dakota. The 4 faces are:

1) President George Washington - famous for being the first US President and the war against the Bristish - the beginning of the USA.
2) President Thomas Jeffeferson - Famous for the Declaration of Independence & Lousianna Purchase
3) President Abraham Lincoln (my personal favourite) - known for is support of freedom and equality for all.
4) President Theodore Roosevelt - famous for helping the US to world dominance.

Cambodia was once apart of the French Union. During the 1970s Khmer Rouge (communist regime) headed by Pol Pot captured Phnom Penh and during their reign some 1.5 million ppl died either by starvation, execution, hardship, etc. Vietnam then invade and reign for approx 10 years causing a civil war.

So here is what I found out:
The Falkalands are an archipelago of 2 main islands and many small ones. The population mainly earns money from fishing, agriculture and sheep breeding. It is an English colony. people mainly live in Stanley, the capital. Since 1982, there is a strong British military force settled there. That's all that I could learn.
So I am where the first unvoluntary boat people left.

Hey it has gotta be Cape Verde since it was once a Slave Trading Centre...I totally forgot about this island and it's located in the North Atlantic west of Senegal and many if not most of the slave that came to the Caribbean are from West Africa.

The legend is that they were made to turn around a tree so that they 'd forget everything about their homeland and wld be more obedient.
Now on this island there is one of the few museums dedicated to slavery and deportation, so there are items from those days and many pictures. So if you are in Africa, go and have a look, 't might be interesting. ;)

Mind you, I'm just guessing. I have not researched it. :D

Antarctica is the fifth largest of the seven continents. It is situated over the South Pole almost entirely south of latitude 66°30’ south (the Antarctic Circle). It is a very rough circular shape with the long arm of the Antarctic Peninsula stretching towards South America. There are two large indentations, the Ross and Weddell seas and their ice shelves.

The nearest other land masses are South America 600 mls / 1000 km away across the roughest stretch of water in the world - the Drake passage, Australia is 1550 mls / 2500 km away, and South Africa 2500 mls / 4000 km away.

The total surface area is about 14.2 million sq km (about 5.5 million sq mls) in summer, approximately twice the size of Australia, half as big again as the USA and fifty times the size of the UK.

Ok here is some of what I know about Trinidad...located northeast of Venezuela, Trinidad is the most southern island of the Caribbean with approximately 1.1M ppl. Trinidad's main source of income is petroleum, natural gas and the Pitch Lake (the world's largest reservoir of asphalt). Trinidad sister island is Tobago and the long name is The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. T & T are famous for:

1) Attracting Bird watchers
2) Steelband Music
3) Carnival
4) Calypso and Soca music

The islands consist of aprrox 40% East Indians and 39% Blacks, the others a mixture of mostly whites, chinese and other races. T & T was colonised by both the French and British.

Definately not Chaka.

Yep it's Ghengis Khan and the country is Mogolia not China.

What can you tell us about Mongolia.

Gwadinka
May 7, 2005, 05:20 PM
Mongolia is a rather poor country of about 1.56 million sq km with about 2.6 million inhabitants.

In the late 12th century a 20-year-old Mongol named Temujin emerged and managed to unite most of the Mongol tribes. In 1189 he was given the honorary name of Genghis Khan, meaning 'universal king' and he set up his capital in present-day Kharkhorin.

The Mongols were under Chinese rule for about 700 years. Mongolia won its independence in 1921 with Soviet backing. A Communist regime was installed in 1924.

Elections in 1996 ended 75 yrs of communism and since many democratisation policies were undertaken. But poverty level is still high and successive famines occured that made the situation more difficult.

You are correct. Argentina is a country in South America, and birthplace of the famous Eva Peron The movie 'Evita' starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas was based on her life. She was a the most famous Argentinian first lady, whose role in society heralded her as a hero among the Argentine people. When she died her body was mumified, and to this day is in incredible condition. A few years ago Argentina experienced a sort of 'Wall street crash'. BAnks closed, the peso which was pegged with the USD was seriously devalued, and their was mass unemployment and rioting as a result.

Iceland's first inhabitants were Irish monks, who regarded the island as a sort of hermitage until the early 9th century. At the end of the 14th century, Iceland was brought under Danish rule. However, in 1940, Denmark was occupied by Germany. Iceland realised that the Kingdom was in no position to continue overseeing its affairs and, a year later, requested independence. Well......

The Sultanate of Brunei's influence peaked between the 15th and 17th centuries when its control extended over coastal areas of northwest Borneo and the southern Philippines. Brunei subsequently entered a period of decline brought on by internal strife over royal succession, colonial expansion of European powers, and piracy. In 1888, Brunei became a British protectorate; independence was achieved in 1984. The same family has ruled Brunei for over six centuries. Brunei benefits from extensive petroleum and natural gas fields, the source of one of the highest per capita GDPs in the developing world.

LOL....sorry I didn't even know you were thinking of Fiji, I just choose Fiji since it's a fairly popular destination. I also know that most of those Pacific Islands religion is Christianity with many of them leaning to Catholism :)

OK Fiji is situated in the South Pacific, East of Australia and North of New Zealand. Fiji consist of 332 islands and only about 110 of them are inhabited. Fiji was once colonized by first the Dutch and then the English. They became independent in 1970.

It has to be Argentina, since the only other country I can think of is Brazil and Brazil is not that big. Germany, England or any of the European countries are known for waterfalls or desert.

Argentina is a country in South America, and birthplace of the famous Eva Peron. She was a the most famous Argentinian first lady, whose role in society heralded her as a hero among the Argentine people. Also in the 1980s, Argentina and Britain fought over the Falklands.

Before you start thanking all those ppl and accepting awards, your answer is incomplete. Since there are 2 Congos, your answer should have been the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Congo (correct name is Republic of Congo) was colonised by the French. Yes I know they are confusing :) The Republic of Congo is called Congo for short.

The Democratic Republic of Congo use to be known as Zaire and they were colonised by the Belgians :)

Anyway go a head, just wanted to mention this for future reference.
