I'm not that much of a cook but unlike some of you guys, I can cook to survive (not talking about rice and peas and chicken here). It's good to know that I'm not the only youth around that can't cook.[/i]

I have acquired a love for cooking these days. . Whenever my girl cooks I try to be in the kitchen with her. I'll make the salad or make the drink. She's not too hot on my cooking so she'd hardly allow me to cook the chicken or anything like that. If needs be I can definitely hold it down. It might not be as good as hers but it will stop a gap.

If she is away I find I could eat macaroni and cheese everyday. Give me any kind of Pasta and I will be happy :D

OK.. Its official....Man must not cook but wash Plate. Otherwise he has emasculated himself and is a sissy.

I don't know about you fellas, but in this day and age where women are generally almost as self-sufficient as most men, I wouldn't always want to leave the cooking up to her. If she is upset with you or has to temporarily leave the country, you still won't go to bed hungry and you don't have to spend extra cash to feed yourself.

I'm no chef, but there's very little that the traditional woman can do in the kitchen (or the general household for that matter) that I lack the competence to do. There is such a thing as an ill trained woman, and there's lots of them in Kingston. That's why in my family, there's no such thing as a male that can't cook.

With that said, every man should learn how to cook. Enroll in a class if you have to. Watch your mothers intently if you have to when she is preparing the Sunday dinner (I do). You owe it to yourselves. Women are making us redundant in the workplace. Are you going to allow them to make you redundant @ home as well?

Think about that for a second. :eusa_snoo

As many of us say after Xeno makes a post "A true Xeno".

But fi real, I can't believe sey so many of the guys here can't cook.
I can cook. And would love to learn how to be better at it. I have cooked for my family and have gotten comments like "You should open your own KFC."

I have even taken my girlfriend out for a picnic, and guess who cooked the food? I did. And she loved it. She knows how to cook and for her to compliment my cooking, means I'm not too bad.

My father cooks regularly for his family. And he is a VP at one of our local banks. You don't see that very often.

Cooking is an art. And if I could make and eat a gourmet meal each day, no more greasy, fatty, unhealthy, over priced, fast food for me.

Xeno has a very good point. But I know that when you men get into relationships with women who can cook y'all refuse to at least treat her to some of your simple, yet tasteful, cullinary skills. So what if it's only corned beef? Sometimes we need a break from the fireside too!

Definition of Outdoor Barbecuing It's the only type of cooking a "real" man will do:

When a man volunteers to do such cooking, the following chain of events is put into motion.

(1) The woman goes to the store.
(2) The woman fixes the salad, vegetables, and dessert.
(3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils, and takes it to the man, who is lounging beside the grill, drinking a beer.
(4) The man places the meat on the grill.
(5) The woman goes inside to set the table and check the vegetables.
(6) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning.
(7) The man takes the meat off the grill and hands it to the woman.
(8) The woman prepares the plates and brings them to the table.
(9) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.
(10) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed "her night off."

And, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women.

I never did cook much when I was in Jamaica and didn't even really knew how to that well. Now I enjoy preparing different dishes and I like to experiment with recipes. My favourites dishes are of course Jamaican, love just about all kinds Chinese food, some Japanese, Italian, Mexican. I also like some Indian and Greek dishes, etc.

Cooking well I can do Toast, pasta..well simple stuff. :)

I don't recommend microwave prepared food. You see when you cook, you do that with LOVE. Time and dedication over a hot stove to show someone you love and appreiate them. Microwaves are just a quick way out of this plus the love in the food is spoiled. :eusa_snoo

i was reading the past posts in this thread. man you guys are funny. i don't mind doing the dishes, i used them when cooking, so i'm gonna clean them. what i can't do is iron.

i learned how to cook by doing 2 culinary courses last year. then there was my mom and my grandmother who sealed the deal for me. guys let me tell you this. learn to cook, it will greatly enhance your social life with the ladies. trust me on that, i'm talking from first hand experience. women love their bellies more than men.

now i'm getting alot of requests to prepare meals for people, and the ladies show alot more interest in me. you can also learn alot from cooking in other areas of your daily life, trust me on that.

ps. does anyone know creative cooking's web-site. i'm trying to find the recipe which i prepared for them.
