I would have to say Gilbert. That was terrifying. The sound when my roof ripped off was the scariest part. Then all of a sudden we had a sun roof in my parents bedroom. A sun roof that couldn't close.
Trust mi, Gilbert did bad.

I can't forget Gilbert. That thing razed through the middle of Jamaica like a knife cutting through butter. Actually we in MoBay didn't feel as much of it as the south coast. It still took months for some normality to be restored. Water and light took almost a month.

I experienced 4 hurricanes and the 2 worse ones are Gilbert and Charley. Gilbert had us packe dlike sardines in the house in the darkness and the water flooded up to our doors and inside. I remember hearing a few light poles drop and wishing and hoping that the one beside my house would just stay put.
For Charley, I saw this big mahagony looking tree get up rooted right in fron tof my patio but thank God feel the opposite direction instead of directly on my apartment. The Noises were another thing too...and as I peeked through the window, I could see the whole gas station across the street turn upside down right before me.
I would not want to go through this again. :(

ivan plain and simple. No light, water and the trees falling down all around my house was terrifing.

I was 10 when Andrew struck Nassau in 92. That one was bad for alot of the outer islands and not so devestating to Nassau, which is a bit centralized.
Floyd did some bad damage in 99 ( A huge sign from the business next door fell on my house, no one was hurt though).
Michelle was pretty rough in 2001 ( I think that was the correct year). Didnt have light and water for about a week.
But I would have to say that Frances and Charley in 2004, had to be the worst for the Bahama Islands. These two massive hurrucanes struck us back to back. One was large enough to affect the entire archipelago.
Freeport got it really bad, being so close to Florida, that just got pummelled one by one.
I hope this will be a quiet season, this year.

Gilbert Man....most def....did you know that it was one of the strongest hurricanes in history? It attained CAT5 status and had the lowest sea level pressure to date? It was a well organised storm. What I saw gilbert do to houses, cars, planes...lol. I was 6 and the amount of stuff I heard those two nights....man....i was so damn glad when it was over. Gilbert man...Ivan was terrible....but we never get it....we get the tail end...but gilbert hit us full force and man did we feel the effects of it!
Gilly....remember they had a Charlie last year you know. They only retire the names after the hurrciane have done seriosu damages so there'll be no more Gilbert,Andrew,Ivan,Jean nor Hugo!

Well i loved Ivan. We were outside running up and down. About 20 ppl slet in my room ALONE let alone the house. PPL carried their bed and everthing down to my house. Go up to my house right now there's still TVs and fans and DVDs there that ppl left there. We were there out side dodging Zinc and trees It was cool. (i live in St Elizabeth, one of the placec that got the worst hit) :D When it was over it was terrible most of the houses were gone. :(

2 be honest both times there was a lot of looting right there in the eye of the storm, it was funny ,in 1988 the guy that was stealing a radio was shifting zincs and coconuts :D
