A few guys at the college I attend supposedly, have been admiring me. But the problem is, they told me that they can't talk to me because I am "high maintenance"
Now CY, what does this phrase mean to you?
Possibly, they could be missing out on a chance to meet a good woman but is considering their monetary funds already. (not that I am interested in them but hey...) Wanna know what it means.

Being "high maintenance" isn't just about requiring a lot of material gratification, but in general, just requiring a lot of attention. There are some people who need to be fed with large amounts of attention in various forms. These guys may think that you are one of them (you may not be, they may be erroneous).
Some guys keep far away from "high maintenance" women, because they feel that their return on investment won't be justified - they'll be lavishing all the attention on the woman, but not necessarily getting back enough for themselves.

It mean sey that u r considered a risk to date as he would have to spend on you more thna he spends on himself, to me that is considered cheap so don't even let that stress you. Dem college bwoy too cheap.

So hold on there... then suppose as a "college bwoy" funds scarce? You woulda waan' him fi bankrupt himself jus' to spend 'pon yuh?
Some guys think it's a risk to date high maintenance women because they perceive there may be a strong chance that she will take, take, take, and not give in like manner. Then when she's taken all she wants, she may just move on to the next guy who she can take from.

Sometimes I think it is not about the money or the attention, but they might be intimidated because of the way I dress or carry myself. That's what I think being high maintenace is all about. I am simple but I can still fix up miself.
I don't know...what do they want me to be? low maintenace? lol no no.

high maintenance is all about showing off. they feel that they have to take you to a nice restaurant (ALL THE TIME) than sometimes going to a fast food joint. it also means you require alot of time, and alot of attention.
its not a matter of being cheap, its a matter of can he live up to expectations beyond what he can afford.

There is no reason a man will deny the chance a dating a woman he is attracted to unless he FEELS he is unworthy in some way. We men tend to be logical beings. Even if the logic produced is severly flawed.
However... a man will always think "what do I have to give her" and if he can't come up with a satisfactory answer then he will write her off as "too expensive/high maintenance"
This is also worsened when he does a very stupid thing ...
he makes severe and expensive assumptions about the woman and what she may want out of life and a relationship with him
... which is like mental speeding before the race has even started.

If your logic is flawed then it can't be logical, can it?:)
Also you make it sound like men have a monopoly on logic, women can be logical too you know :p
Ok I will behave now...I just felt like starting an argument ;) :icon_mrgr
