Cornmeal porridge made only by my wife :). She knows exactly how I like it ... not thick, slightly sweet and smooth. Believe it or not, we had it for breakfast this morning before I saw this post ... hmmm :eusa_thin

Do you really like porridge?

If this question is for me, then yeah. But as I mentioned, I'm kinda picky so I only eat it from my wife.

Actually it was for Nas.I really like the fact that you are picky because MOST men don't eat outside u know.It is good when you limit the number of people you eat from.

Yeah, a good bowl of hominy isn't bad at all. I haven't had it in MANY years, my Grandma used to make it for us.

...but question though for a bajan like me what is hominy porridge

hominy porridge is made from specially prepared whole corn kernels, not ground corn like in cornmeal.

I like most porridge, my least favourite though is rice porridge. Any of you ever try peanut porridge? It's really good:)

My favourite is banana/plantain porridge. As for who makes the best porridge, I have to say its a toss up between my mom and my grandma.

I never liked it when I was a kid, but my brother taught me how to make it with allspice, milk, butter and vanilla. My favorite is rice porridge, but up in NC, grits are cheaper, so we eat rice porridge at Christmas. The children LOVE porridge and used to like counting the allspice ... now that they're older, I make it with ground pimento. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm good!
