Basmati rice is a long grain rice from India. A few months ago I tried it and I loved the texture and taste of it. Since then, that is the only rice I use in my food.

You make it the same way you make ordinary rice and it doesn't clump together like the cheaper brands.

Have any of you tried it? If so, what is your opinion?

My best friend told me about it when I was home but I didn't get a chance to try it. It's here tho so I suppose I will try it eventually.

I tried Basmati rice for the first time today, it was alright, though its texture reminded me of uncooked rice. I guess it doesnt swell when it is cooked.

Basmati rice tastes good, but it really is not my type. It is kinda flavourless, in that it does not bond with meat gravy as I would like.I love sticky/glutinous rice, cause it soaks up gravy like a mofo. Curry Chicken with Sticky Rice !!!!
