Chippies Bananachips...yuck!

Long time now, from mi eye did at mi knee, I have been eating chippies bananachips. That's about 20 years right there.

But since the past few months the bananachips have been STALE!!!! I thought it was just a bad batch we got, but week after week they are stale.

I think they are more concentrating on mass production than quality of the chips. Everybody loves chippies. Kids will still eat them, no matter if they are a little stale.

Well, I have started looking for another brand of bananachips to call my own. St. Mary's come real real close. If only they put more in the bags. ;)

So chippies send di fresh bananachips to di corna shops and the supermarkets get di stale one dem?

But fi real, the corner shops chips taste fresha. Never tasted a stale chips from dem yet.

LMBO...yeah I got some whenI was home and they were stale for real. The things I couldn't find much banana chips which I suppose is as a result of Ivan.

Used to love chippies for real, but is like mi kinda lost interest. They really are stale now. St. Mary's nice though, well nice too.

I think when Ivan did come and gone and wi did short of banana (and hence banana chips), we did ask the farin people who we send dem to fi sen some back and thru dem bad mind dem back the stale one dem. That's just my theory tho.

Not really Chippies after all I guess


Jamaica Producers now makes chips under the "St Mary's Best" brand for the local market using cassava, potatoes and bananas

Yow Chippies a de best. But dem send de one dem that stale a fareen.I'm sure the ones sold here are from Ecuador. Read the label. All the banana trees were knocked down after the hurricane and we had to import banana chips. The stale ones have probably been in the store since October.

The name of the bananachips is St. Mary's Bananachips. I believe it comes from St. Mary. I guess they couldn't come up with any other better name than that. ;)

But so far they have passed my taste test and I am really liking them.

u had some "pop-up" banana chips that flooded the darn snack shop round 1998-2001. all ah dem selling for $10.00 at the time and so small u had to buy 3 bags. Ya'll rem them? cant rem the names.

There were quiet a few of different brands of banana chips selling. Another one like "Nices" did taste good too. Just that not enough was in the bag. I think those sell for $10 too.
