Haiti hold Jamaica to 1-1 draw after squandering a first-minute penalty kick. Jamaica scored the opening goal from close range late in the First Half.

Haiti replied early in the Second Half, from a penalty kick. :eusa_doh:

I didn't watch the entire game, but on a whole which team appeared to have played better?

I would say Haiti. (I didn't see much of the First Half of the game, though.) Haiti had more ball possession and they were running like crazy. Jamaican players were too static, and sluggish. Around the goal area Jamaica had better passes and more accurate strikes on goal. The Haitian goalie was kept busy, and he made some saves that kept his team in the match... The Haitians know they're gonna have a hard time in Kingston. They know if they're gonna beat us, it had to be in Miami, so they played like it was the final.

Haiti got a 3-0 thrashing, courtesy of Jamaica. All goals coming in the First Half.

Marlon King got a hattrick of goals with two headers and a strike. He was the same player who scored Jamaica’s only goal in the first encounter, in Miami.

Second Half, saw a Jamaican player getting sent-off with a red card. The Haitians found life and started pressuring with possession-football, which produced a strike and a bicycle-kick on goal. Donovan Ricketts, made good saves. A Haitian player also got sent-off later on, leveling the sides to 10 men each.

Haiti’s best chance to score came in the First Half, when one of their strikers received a pass by error and went straight at goal, with a point-blank shot. Ricketts pulled-off a reflex save.

Jamaica advances to the next round on a 4-1 aggregate. :D

Thanks for the summary G-13. I wasn't able to watch the match but it's great that Jamaica won especially at home :) Keep up the good work Carl and the Reggae Boyz!!

I dunno, it seemed too easy. Probably the Haitians were nervous being in Jamaica. They really didn't seem to be much of a challenge. It looked like as if the Reggae boys were playing some high school kids. The haitians were small in body size and the Boys used that to thier advantage. You should have seen how many haitian players fell to the ground after trying to tackle the ball away from on of the Boys. The Boys just didn't even pay them any mind.

Either we never played as well in Miami, or the Haitians were nervous being here and the Boys got confidence because they are in thier home town.

I want a rematch in Haiti. :D

well all in all we won and that what matters to me sorry... I still don't think though that Carl Brown is the best man for the job... You can still see the bad decisions he makes with the formation being used... I wish the reggae boyz the best but bwoy we need a good defensive unit star..
