Manufacturing in T&T

I've been noticing that many products sold in Jamaica are made in Trinidad. I'm curious as to how Trinidad has gained the competitive advantage in manufacturing and production of these wide variety of items. Can anyone enlighten me on this?

I think the maturing of caricom is opening trade relations with us, i know for a fact from trini friends that, Wata, various Snacks, Tropical Riddims, Bigga Softdrinks and other things (mainly food) are popular in trinidad and Tobago
