Do you think that children should be beaten?

Absolutely yes..is that what the Bible proclaims.

Example: Look at the big USA. Beating children was removed from the laws. In fact, if you strike a child, you can be sent to jail. Look at the state of America today, what it has become. Increase in gang violence plus immoral activities.

I noticed that American parents usually "ground" their children or sent them to their rooms as punishments. Remember in children's rooms there are usually tvs, stereos, telephones, etc......WHERE IS THE PUNISHMENT IN SENDING A CHILD TO HIS ROOM!!

Granted i'm all for beatings.... BUT i've come to realise some kids an beatings just don't make sense.
You can beat them till yuhWEAK!!!!!!!! and a few minutes lata they turn around and do the same thing they got beaten for.
I would say it depends on the child... what works for one child might not work for the other.
Nowadays we as parents/guardians have to come up with creative ways to punish our ids for doing wrong. A mere beating just might not do the trick.

Lick them yes. But definately not abuse them. Like you said, don't spare the rod and spoil the child.

A spanking is required of course, but as long as it's done with control and without physical harm.

the sad thing about humans... is that pain is a still the most effective teaching tool we have for those that just don't care to learn what you have to teach.

all said and done, teaching cruelty will beget cruelty....

if you examine what has happened to nations in the past and to see when they rise up, their behaviour is just similar to the treatment they got. there is something in that.

i find that using the truth, no matter how harsh is far more effective.

While that maybe true it is sometimes necessary to spank the child.

if you're trying to teach a child to work out your problems by talking, and then spank them that will be sending mix signals to the child. just something to think about.

spanking yes, beating no thats what i believe. but there must be alternatives than the use of force.
