How difficult would it be for you to break an unhealthy habbit you have? What would be stopping you from doing so?

I have such a sweet tooth.......I can put down 4 slices of cake in one sitting. It doesnt help that I work as a food server neither :( . I dont have a weight problem, but all that sugar is not good in any event. Too much glucose in the blood increases the risk for development of Type 2 Diabetes, and that is serious in itself. I am doing alot better now, I am down to just two slices of cake when I sot down to eat a nice desert. :D

I have the habit of only remebering to visit the forums when I am at work.
I have no clue how to break that one. At home I find everything else to do on the net. At work I read news, read emails and post.
I am not in denial tho.....that is the first step.

...and so far not a single soul has answered BCK's question...so let me try:
Breaking a habit requires the 3 D's:
Discipline
Drive
Determination
If you have none of the above, you may need someone like a friend or a personal trainer to get you going. Loosing weight with a friend, or with your entire family in on it is by far the easiest way for most people to go - since most people lack discipline; which is the number 1 reason why people find it hard to break an unhealthy habit - or any habit at all.
If you are married, the benefits are multiplied exponentially if your wife/husband is aiding the effort. It's far more difficult if you're doing it alone and everyone else in your sorroundings is walking in with pork this and curry that etc. etc.

Another tip on breaking an unhealthy habit:
Remove yourself from the enticing object or person, if that is possible. Thats why I dont have any sweets in my house, but at work that is another story :eusa_wall

Oh lord its hard, still struggling with mine. I'm allergic to citric acid so that means no citrus (well duh), no soda or juice like that. Well I have been to the hospital three times already, but its not so bad now. You really have to determined and disciplined. (Xeno mi nuh sure bout the drive cuz the only thing its driving me to do is to eat/drink it).
