A banyan tree in Mupkal village near Hyderabad has gained fame as the Visa Tree with thousands wanting travel permits to the United States and United Kingdom believing that praying at the tree will help them gain the elusive visas.
Residents of Nizamabad and surrounding areas queue up in front of a stump of the 100-year-old banyan tree, about 45 kilometers from Nizamabad. Hundreds of visa-seekers have been praying at this "Visa temple" since the ones whose wishes were granted, spread the good word around.

Best to take the money and put it in a savings account for five billion years. When the end of the Universe arrives your ticket to the gala event will have been paid for already. Sorry, was just listening to the BBC's Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. :D
