August has been an active month as the first three named systems of the year have all impacted The United States. There are two more systems calive in the Atlantic Basin. Fromer Tropical Storm Earl, in the eastern Caribbean, has been downgraded to a tropical wave. There's still a chance that the wave could regenerate into a tropical storm as it steams westward into the central and eventually the western Caribbean. It looks like the system probably will move across the Yucatan Peninsula and not follow the same track as Charley.
