Ohk so the Olympics have left us for the next four years.
Do you think that the islands of the Caribbean should team up and form one Caribbean Olympic team like what is done with cricket (which may break up at the rate its going).
Your thoughts

This is not a bad idea. I don't know what is the controversy with the cricket organization or sport? But I think that you may have a good point, because in the US players come from different states and also from the virgin islands, puerto rico and hawaii. Which are considered US countries now and they represent the US. So organizing the islands is not a bad idea, but each island always wants to stand out from one another. Showing which one is greater and that is were you have the conflict. But your idea is a good one. :) I think if they had some similar agreement like the cricket it would be good for the overall sport and bring more athletes in from other islands.

While it may be a good idea from the view of pooling our resources together, I doubt that the individual countries will go for it. Each country will still prefer their "own" trophies and so it will remain an individual country effort.
Another thing is from the IOC stand-point. I'm not sure about the legality of several independent countries competing as one. We may have to be defined as a single sovereign country in order for the Olympic committee to accept us as one.
