i honestly don't like being by myself, now it isn't like i am dependent but i really can't stand the thought that i am not needed , loved or wanted.

i've always loved my own company. i have no problems not having a mate, and there are often times where i just cut myself from the outside world. so i would say no i'm not afraid of being alone.

Getting old is like dying, it will happen whether we like it or not so we may as well not worry about it.

As for being alone, I like being alone most of the time anyway so no it's not an issue for me.

I’m not worried about that at all, I tend to be reserved and keep myself busy but when I’m up in age and if I become lonely I already live in FL and there are many clubs for senior citizens that I can join to read books and play cards and bingo with so I guess I’ll be ok when that time comes. ;) :D

No one really knows where life's journey will take them. A person who has been lonely or enjoy their own company now,may feel differently when they get older. There are some factors which must be considered: children,grandchildren,extended family,illness,socio-economic conditions,and who knows...some of your best friendships might be formed when you get much older. I believe each stage/phase in your life brings different experiences.We just have to take each day as it comes. I don't believe in worrying about many years from now.Let's focus on the now,since you have little or no control over the future,even with careful planning.

Growing old is unnatural, but wid it wi hafi cope. Being alone in old age is a kind of frightening proposition, but if your health holds out, and that is an important factor, especially in the lives of the elderly, then be positive and friendly with people and at least a few will appreciate it and will ensure that you won't be completely alone.

Yes I am. The thing is that I can't imagine growing old and being alone, that's just completely sad.In 2003, many old people died in France because of the heat and because their family went on holidays rather than take care of them. I don't want that to happen to me. I'd like to have my family around, but have my little space too.
