If there is a dangerous situation, ideally, I'd want my wife as far away from it as possible. If I'm being physically attacked, and she is in a position to help, I'd appreciate it, but I wouldn't expect her to risk her safety for me. I'd rather her not be exposed to danger because of me.

On the level though, women are quite capable of physically defending themselves. Physical strength isn't the only, or most important quality which a good fighter must have. I've trained with some women, all feminine and vulnerable looking, who could kill a man with 1 kick. The perception of their weakness gives women an advantage.

If my wife was able to handle herself like that, then I'd have no problem with her fighting for me, but I'd still rather her get herself to safety and not risk her life.
