It's been done in Japan for nearly 12 Years now. Both on Track and illegally at Night. You need a High torque engine tuned for acceleration over top speed, and money fi buy back tire every week.

Amazing to look at, requires Mad Skillz, oh you also need a RWD to do it properly, it is very hard to do on a 4WD and you have to be a drift master to do it in FWD. The article I linked to has Drifting Techniques for you to try !!

Regarding Touge, the goal is to lose your opponent (if you start first), or stay close (if you start second), so drifiting will hurt you, cause you lose massive amounts of speed in a drift. If you need to block the entire corner by turning your car sideways then it comes in handy!
