Think for a second. Can you conciously control all of your body parts internal and external? No you can't. So where did you get this idea that a man should be in physical control over his privates? The control that people should and do excercise over their body, is the decision to avoid certain situations. If a persons ability to exit a particular situation or resist certain things being done to them is taken away, there is no other way to be in control of certain things.

Your argument seems to disregard the fact that if a man is held against his will and has things done to him without his consent, whether or not he has an erection, that he is being violated. It's like you're saying that if he gets an erection, he is consenting. Why you are wrong about male erection
(and everything else, by Xeno)

Reason #1 - The Brain doesn't control everything.

The human brain has two types of functions:


Motor Functions - These are functions which are regulated by a willed stimulus from the brain. Motor functions are wired directly to your limbs and muscles, and allow you to do everything from walking to facial contortions. Any physical movement that you "choose" to do (even typing), is controlled by the left side of your brain. Motor functions are proactively simplex - meaning that the signal travels in one direction, from brain to muscle, but never backwards. Alternatively, you can feed an electrical signal directly into the temporal lobe of a cadavre (a dead body), and animate a hand, a foot, twitch the face, open or close an eyelid. These are all motor functions over which everone has full control.


Auto Functions - These are reactive functions which are stimulated by responses from nerve endings in our body. They are not regulated by the brain, but rather, by the spinal column. Every sensation is picked up by a nerve ending, routed to the spinal column, routed to a response dendrite in the brain, which sends a signal back to the spinal column, telling it which enzymes, hormones, or muscles to activate. This is an involuntry FULL Duplex action, in which your brain, your spinal cord and the nerve ending which triggered the response, are in full dialog with each other, to determine what the out come of that sensation will be.


Notice the fundamental difference between the two:

Motor Functions - Proactive. The response is elicited by your control.

Auto Functions - Reactive. The response is hard wired into your body.

Therefore my dear, this is also why:


When you feel cold, you tremble (an involuntary muscle contraction automated by your spinal column).


When you are hot, your pores open up and release fluid we call sweat. (the opening and closing of your pores is not controlled by your brain).


When you sense fear, adrenaline rushes into your blood stream, causing your heart to pump faster (your heart's beat is not regulated by your brain!).


When you sustain concussion to a certain part of your body, the sensation of pain is actually delayed for a fraction of a second (like when you stubb your toe against furniture).


When a doctor taps a certain part of your knee, the lower foot automatically reponds (an electrical impulse fired off by your spinal column).


When a woman's clitoris is stimulated, it automatically starts the lubrication of the female genital tract.


When a man's ***** is stimulated, it automatically fills the penile shaft with blood, and thus sustains an erection. The tract that fills the ***** with blood (hence an erection) is not a muscle, nor is there any muscle connected to it. Therefore, it is impossible for a man to fill his ***** with blood by his own will.


None of these acts are motor functions. Therefore, it is ludicrous to assert that a man who is raped, who has a sustained erection, wanted it in the first place.

There is a well known rape case in court, where a woman sued her rapist, but he counter sued because she became intensely lubricated during the forced act, and even sustained a powerful orgasm.

A male erection occurs whenever blood fills the penile vesicle of the *****. There are a NUMBER of scenarios other than sexual stimulation which would cause blood to fill the *****:

A good night's sleep. When you sleep, your body is usually in a horizontal position. This is perfect for allowing the heart to work efficiently, as no blood has to be pumped "upwards" to the head, and there is no vertical resistance from gravity. This allows perfect dissipation of blood throughout the entire body, instead of the normal concentration around the lungs, the bowels, and the feet. When blood is evenly dissipated throughout the human body, every vein, artery and conduit will be filled with blood. The function of this is to provide oxygen to every organ in the body for the "garbage collection" process. As such, this is why most healthy people have an urge to defecate in the mornings, and in the case of healthy men, an erection is sustained while they're asleep. It remains long after the wake cycle commences, and dissipates as the day continues. This erection is not sexually stimulated.


I could go on, but that would just be insulting your intelligence. I think you see my point.

So by your arguments, it would seem to suggest that men are ready for sex, not only when they genuinely want sex, but also when:


They're excited about some new car / computer / results of a close cricket match between the West Indies and Australia...


They're competing with another male


Hearing their favourite music


They're severely angered at the thought that Pogi is trying to steal their woman.


They're enjoying their favourite meal


They just had a brilliant idea and they're itching to share it with the world...


There are so many reasons why men sustain erections. You women just don't know 9/10ths of the time, and thus, assume that it is always sexually responsive. That could be no further from the truth.
