I am terribly allergic to my cat, but I love the little fuzzball, and we cannot part with her. I have no desire to take allegra for the next 20 years, anyone can recommend a good doc i can see for those allergy shots ?

I'm in Jamaica, just in case you didn't know :icon_lol:

ns...an ENT specialist would be the best kind of doctor to see. Dr.Charles Lyn (Tangerine Place)is a good ENT specialist.Ideally, you should make a decision..keep cat and take meds.forever,OR remove cat and problem solved.

Bare in mind hun that all medications have side effects and if taken for long periods of time may create permanent complications.

Histamine is what causes the allergic response. Anti-histamine should be self explanatory now. Is it only pet dander you're allergic to?

I'm allergic to just about anything. Chronic sinusitis. As long as it makes my nose fuzz...or twitches...I'm a sneezing fool. Runny eyes....itching.....sometimes coughing. I want a cat cos i love putty cats.....but it's hell for me too. Is there something I can removed surgically? Trim my nose hairs? Grow em more? What?

I doubt if there are any permanent cures for allergies. In terms of anthistamines, Benadryl is unbeatable.

Actually, allegra works great, I prefer it to benadryl by far. One tab works for about a day and a half.

My Gf got allergy shots in the US when she was about 7 and the effects lasted till she is in her 20's. But they cost in the thousands of US.

manu your nose hairs are used to filter that stuff from actually going into the back of your nose. so trimming them ain't a good idea.

allegra doesn't work for me at all. none of the 3 types works. benadryl myself by far. but what i'm starting to like and use very often is nasonex. its a spray that working wonders for me.
