They are all real, they were taken using a technique called slide photography.

Haven't you heard Nester-san? If you want to hide something from Black people, put it in writing. ;)

They look uncannily like hyperdetailed models, absent the imperfections of reality. Streets are strangely clean, trees look plastic, and odd distortions of scale create the opposite effect of what we expect from aerial photography--a complete overview, like military surveillance...

...He achieves the distinctive look by photographing from a helicopter using a tilt-shift lens--a method, he says, that "allows me to choose what I really like in focus: like in a written page, we don't read [it as an] image but one line at a time.

.
The city's simulated monuments are made to look artificial, in total defiance of their reality. For Barbieri it is "the city as an avatar of itself."

Lovely.

Why do you think that this is only a blackman issue? Is it because you live on an island that's predominantly black? When you live in other countries you learn that the very problems you face in Jamaica you will find in other places.

The thing I like about Canada is that it is such a multicultural country, especially the 3 big cities...Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Living here taught me that, many of the very same behaviour I saw in Jamaica and Barbados exist here as well and its across all race. Somethings are more about human behaviour than culture or race.

It's a popular expression hun. It wasn't quoted because it was true. ;)

So what's your explanation for the other races who do the same thing? I see the same nonesense here all the time, where people don't read what is in front of them and I am not talking about blacks either.

So you are saying that they make the same stupid mistakes because they don't listen to rap or dancehall. I am not following here. I just mentioned that people of other race did the samething not read when they are suppose to...what does that have to do with rap and dancehall?

Have you ever listened to Rap or dancehall? That kinda music isn't created by people who read! The only thing musical in either form is the pre-arranged beat loops that come with software like FruityLoops. They just fire up a loop and bark some garbage to it. :rotflm: I'll let BCK help you out with the lyrics. :icon_mrgr

Other forms of music require you to actually know music theory. You can't know music theory unless you're willing to read... a lot. Hence... :eusa_whis

You still haven't answered my question...since black people have this problem because of rap and dancehall music, what is the excuse for the other races who also have this problem?

- Minorities. They don't make up the larger portion of their populous, and thus are not qualitatively suitable for a general case desription.

The type of photography used to take these pics is similar to that which is used to capture blurred water in photographs to make them look like paintings. Most digital cameras come with such a facility. Has anyone ever heard of rotoscoping?

Minorities? You assume it's a minority issue. I could say the very same thing about what you said about black people, it is the minority that behave that way. Just depends on how you look at it and where you are examing it from. Like I said living with different cultures teaches you that some human behaviour goes across all race and culture. Somethings are not just racial, they can also be a cultural issue or just plain human behaviour.

Fair enough. You are quite right. However, the reading problem is predominantly a black people issue. The stats don't lie. It actually alludes to something deeper, but I can't be bothered to write, vette and repost another long one. The reading problem seems to have impared my willingness. I hate correcting all of those misquotes, misreads and such. It's kinda tedious and unrewarding. :icon_neut

Xeno, to be fair, I listen to Dr. Dre almost exclusively for Hip-Hop/Rap and I find that while he does sample, since sampling is a part of the makup of the music, the rythms/beats (I don't know proper musical terms), are 200 times more layered and structured than most other producers, and I think Kanye West is also pretty good.

What do you think of Beastie Boys - Intergalactic ?

Xenocrates
January 30, 2006, 03:49 PM
Umm... Dr. Dre has his masters degree in music. He's officially a concert pianist by profession. Don't compare anybody else in rap to Dr. Dre. He taught them music and how to sample. There's a science to making a melody catchy. Dr. Dre passed that on to the others. He's essentially the God of modern rap music.

And by the way? The correct term is "Loops". The beat of a rap song is made of drum loops and simplistic melodies all made from synthetic instruments. The science of how that works will not be understood by high school dropouts who blow up and become rap stars. That's why they hire technicians from europe to write their melodies for them.

But never the less, we need to continue this in the right forum.

Well, I know Dre is gifted musician, and a perfectionist I didn't know he had is Masters!

The stuff he did for the Game's album is amazing.
