Is Idealized Beauty Out of Reach?

The mass media bombard consumers with images of beauty like never before, write the researchers. But those images are honed by a team of professionals including makeup artists, stylists, photographers, lighting pros and editors. Most women can't live up to that standard. In fact, top models and actresses aren't always born that way. The current ideal of female beauty that of a thin, well-toned, yet big-breasted woman rarely occurs without restrictive dieting, excessive exercise, and cosmetic surgery.

What are some of yall perspectives on comestic sugery? Would you do it? Why?/Why not?

It's hard to watch music videos and flip through magazines and not compare yourself with those girls... I'm sure everyone wouldn't mind looking like that... but I do think that some people take it too far when they get all that plastic surgery and enhancements

How do you know she had plastic surgery? Is there something that makes it obvious. I have seen pics of her but never thought she did. I am not very good at observing such things:)

Its all over the internet...besides shes an older woman, there is no way hes looking like that at this age...she has had boob jobs, Lip Jobs..

So true!

I've watched people get boob jobs and liposuction on TV and it looks painful and disgusting... I couldn't imagine having someone cut me open and do all that stuff... :eusa_sick

OMG... I saw a documentary on situations like that... this one guy wanted his chest to look more muscular and he woke up with DD breasts and the doctor was no where to be found... that's scary!

I support plastic surgery. If ppl r Fugly then they should have the right to correct it. Also if they feel insecure about parts of their bodies. I would kill for a pair of them double D's

I'd have my calves done. At this age yuh can't work out and get them just right no more. Unless I was doing track or netball or hockey at Queens? :eusa_snoo

I believe plastic surgery is not for people who are only ugly, but people who have real problems and it is a necessity. Also a lot of beautiful people do plastic surgey and maybe some of you should give it a try..

Why unu want to try and be immortal? Unu want when unu dead there is nothing there to decompose? Anyways there are many ways to naturally enhance your beauty. You'll appreciate it better in the long run in my opinion. Lipo may be good for some people and corrective surgery but plastic surgery strictly for vain purposes will hurt in the long run......guaranteed.

I agree with you here, a college friend of mine got into a car accident and had to get corrective surgey to fix her nose and plates in her motuh. I can understand that...But yea..if you got money and you want to fix up yuself..i ent hating...but if the doctor **** you up......
