I know some girls who take birth control pills to help their acne.

It causes them to gain weight though :p

Proactive works but she can also go the dermatologist and get prescription products or Jencare.

Its a spa that specializes in skin care and also has their own product line to treat whatever skin issues you have.

I have been to jencare before. Had bumps on my face during my teenage years. Hated it. And then my friends would want to burst the bumps that were filled with puss. Uhhg!!

So I sought professional help, i.e. Jencare. They gave me a facial, where they used some equipment to pluck the bumps or something, along with heat and some cream or whatever they used.

Then they gave me a special bar of soap and cream to keep my face clean.

Months, maybe years later, I found myself living off their soap and cream. Thought this thing would go away.

Ah well, I just came off their stuff and went to a dermatologist. He gave me creams to use also. Said it will be gone in a few months. Well, sure enough it did.

But as I weened myself off of the cream, the bumps came back, revenge style.

Bah!! Well, that was it. Money and waste of time.

So I just prayed about it and it went away. :D
Now why didn't I think of that in the first place? lol

So I don't know about Jencare being teef. They seem to offer a very professional service.

LoL. Well niether did the dermatologist I went to. So maybe I had a rare case of acne that couldn't easily be treated (except with prayer), but others I know have gotten treatment at jencare and their faces cleared up.

many people get acne during their hormonal teenage years, it tends to go
away with age for most people. How old is your friend KriTikaL?

Same here AA, I only recently switched to Proactive since the Jencare in FL is some 1.5 hours away but Jencare's products really work.

The only cheap facial treatments are sold on pharmacy shelves if those don't work for you be prepared to spend some dough.

Wait so it can not only wash clothes clean but wash the bumps off your face as well.... go figure :icon_lol:

When you have acne washing your face often is pointless as you'll only increase the oil production in your pores thereby blocking them which leads to more bumps :p

Aveno also works...... It's a bit pricer than Neutrogena and Clean and Clear though.

I know that neutrogena products work really well. You should also tell your friend that using the same line of product (so long as it works) is also necessary, using many different products @ a time will only leave her confused. Then again, how will she know what works for her?.:eusa_thin

I usually go by my instincts and the reputation of the company when chosing any product for my skin. The products listed in previous posts are all good and she may want to consider using any of them

Hope you friend has better luck in the future.:)

Proactiv i use it an it good and i know someone who had a bad case of acne and it clear up them face as well, another thing is stop eating alot of fry food if she do.oil takes 1 week to digest the body trys to find a way to get it out of system , the next thing that could be causing the acne is her hair: there some special shampoo for that and if her hands not clean an touch up her face alot bacteria goes down in pores an bumps appear from no were.

Your friend's problem sound more than just keeloid skin. It sounds hormonal and dietary. As pogi said, Birth control pills help. Also, cut off the fatty foods. Use white moisturising soap. Use warm water to wash your face you open pores. Warm baths help too. Acne should clear up in about 2-3 months. Pro-Activ should be a last resort. These products only work for a time...once you stop using them...acne returns....sometimes worse than before. Also get a loofah. Aloe vera mask helps too! Don't let it dry too much on your face though. It'll give you wrinkles.
