This thread is strictly for stories of your brush with crime, the more recent the better, just remember to use good judgment.
Lets start :
I have no encounter as an adult, but many years ago when I was like around 8, a man was chased an cornered in my yard at round 10 pm one Saturday night, he was robbed and shot in the head. I remember at the time I was half asleep "watching" a movie with my dad and two of my brothers ( I was the youngest) when I heard the shoots. I remember my dad rolled off the bed and my other 2 brothers dashed to the ground in an attempt to take cover. Given that I was half asleep, I was confused and scared, I froze in the chair. My dad and my eldest brother upon seen me shouted repeated that I should lay on the floor, brother eventually drag me to the floor. Within a few seconds after that the landlord drove up to the gate, talk about bad timing!... to cut a long story short, the man who was shot in the head survived, the two gunmen escaped, the police turned up the next morning because they had no cars available, the station was about a 5 mins drive from the house. We had a few sleepless nights after that fearing the gunmen would return to finish us off (potential witness), but thank God that fear didn't materialised, we stayed at that house years after without any problems.
If it was now I would have moved the next day, because dem man yah wicked now a days.

As a child:
One Sunday morning, at about 11:30, I was just about to take my bicycle outside and ride around the complex when I heard a single gunshot. I was at the door, and just about to open it. I heard the shot, and ran for cover. As it turns out, a man had attempted to enter a woman's home (her door was open - many people left their doors open in those days) and when she tried to close it on him, he shot her in her arm. She recovered thankfully. After shooting her, he walked calmly out of the complex and went away. Police took a good while to reach.
One day (another Sunday) we were returning from some outing, when at an intersection, we saw one of those "newspaper vendors" rob a woman's purse from her car seat. He ran, my dad chased him in the car, hit him once with the car, but the guy got up and ran into somebody's yard, then disappeard.
Recently
At work, in the middle of the morning, my coworkers saw a robbery take place. A guy apparently robbed someone entering an institution, then made his getaway on an awaiting motorcycle ridden by his partner. I didn't personally see the robbery, but I glimpsed the bike with the 2 guys as they sped past.

When I was in high school I almost got caught with an illegal gun, my friend was flirting with some unscrupulous persons and he came into my yard one day with a gun and being the foolish child I was I took the gun and held it, immediately after I took it a police jeep (ratty) drove pass the gate (I swear I $ h ! t my pants that day) even now when I remember my heart beat fast, I could have lost my life or end up in prison.
I have seen a couple people get shot in the foot for stealing and I have seen a couple persons get killed. One that sticks out the most was a woman who was chased into a church I use to attend (the same church that was stealing electricity that I refer to in another thread) and shot couple times. She and two other men came into the area to exchange guns and the guys in the area decided that they wanted the guns they had and would not exchange so the chased her and shot her couple time in the church and another man got shot twice and fell on the ground and a young man came over him in front of me and his mother and stab the guy in the throat, twist the knife and just walk away. That image remains in my mind like it happened yesterday.
I lived through a four year war between Rema, Tivoli, Denham Town, Rose Town and Jungle. I have seen so many dead bodies in the back of police jeeps and on the road side it’s not even funny. The majority of my life has been a brush with crime.

LAME!!! where is the real brush!!!
One night Acidblade invited me to the movies, he wanted to go at 5:00 to catch the two for one, but I wasn't in to the cheapness that day so I insited we go at 8:00 instead. After much deliberation, I won, [again]. :icon_lol:
The movie ended after 11:00 so we were headed into the cross roads bus terminal area to catch a cab with RED plates, not the white plate ones that line CArib.
At the terminal this guy approached us out of nowhere with a three star ratchet. Convo:
Teef: "yow unoo nuh badda wid nuh f*ry and gimme unoo money"
Blade: "my yute yuh know seh we nah've nutten, a bus we bout fe ketch"
Teef: "yow a fool yuh tek me fah? yuh nah mek yuh browning tek bus dem time a nite yah"
Blade: "no man boss, so she bounce it more time"
Teef: "tek off her chain gimme and unoo phone before me stab yuh inna yuh face and stap de long chatting"
Me: "jus gi him and dun babes"
Blade: "me jus get me phone eenuh [bawling now] :icon_cry: jus tek her chain and phone alone nuh?!"
Long story short he robbed us. Brush-ish enough for you Blade. :dwl:

If that scenario you related back there concerning mr. blade and your good self is'nt true...then it sure has the ring of authenticity about it. Nicely related lady twinks, you sure tell a good story.:eusa_clap

I got robbed walking home from work, I had my CD player because I took it to work and back home everyday. This was in Ironshore, Montego Bay. After I got robbed I found it funny because of the song that was being played during the robbery "if a jungle man ever catch you when him red, and decide tonight him a go make you marrow spead, you woulda bawl say no murder me, you would a bawl like a baby" or something close to that. Bwoy, did I bawl and beg for my life! Two gun in your ears is not a pretty something. Yow them push the gun them so far in my ears i swear some wax come out pon it.

This is a story my little sister told my father, after she slept out one night, she was 16; went to school and never came home. Had all of us looking all over the place for her. This happened on a Valentine's Day.
This chica come waltzing in the next day after 10 in the morning, just as my father was on his way to the police station to file a missing person's report. This is the story:
Apparently she had stayed back at school, so she was at the Portmore bus stop in H-W-T when a gunman held her up. She threw her bag with her new Sony cd player and cd case with the latest cd's to her friend who ran with it. The same gunman took her watch. So my father then asked her if noone tried to help her. According to her there wasn't alot of ppl at the bus stop (guys this is after 6pm at the Portmore bus stop in H-W-T...) and nobody helped her. He then asked her how come she still had on all that gold jewelery. At the time she had on 24kt gold chain, gold earrings, gold ring, gold bracelet-yet the suposed gunman never take one of them. My father was baffled, I guess she was too, her response was 'mi nuh know daddy (with the most serious look pon har face) him mussi neva see dem!" :o Ask har whe she did deh? Ova har friend house, whe the fren name? She nuh memba-is a new girl inna har class. Now note this is like near the end of the school year. Classic.....Well my father never say nuttin more than wheel har inna the house, then proceeded to rob har behind of its true color. She nuh EZ. Up to now mi haffi laugh.....Never see har secon' yet!!!

Reality sure bites hard...Ouch! I'm very glad no one has suffered or reported any serious injury so far. The best and wisest course when confronted with this type of evil, seems to be to offer the least resistence, and to hopefully come away with the most important asset we posess...Your Life:eusa_pray
