if we had a chat room, what would be the sense in having the forum?

it will not work
thats all there is to it ....a chat room is unorganized ...confusing

how can the chatroom replace the forum?...the chatroom will facilitate more direct communication amongst members.

I have been in numerous chatrooms and they are not disorganised and confusing In fact I'm a moderator for a chatroom of a very popular local forum...you guys need to open your minds a little more.

u also have to look at the fact that most active members arent online at the same time ........u check it out ....thats a major factor

also some of the long posts couldnt work if we had a chat room ....chat rooms could work for certain section of the site .....

but we prefer messenger :D

It would be a redundancy to do so.

Yes. I would recommend a CR only when the members exceed 500.

Hail

I don't think Hillsman was suggesting that we remove the current format and replace it a chat room format.
I would think that he was suggesting that it be an additional feature of CY.

I would have hoped that he would have explained to us whether or not this was currently being done on the forum which he is a part of, and what the benefits are.

If people use messenger to communicate with each other on this forum (as they seem to be doing) then it might allow persons who have restrictions placed their systems at the workplace to be a part of this interaction.

I think it might hold some promise, if we could allow the transfer of files between CY members, it might allow more sharing and interaction of more information.
Who knows?
