Outside of the Matrix, Neo, is "only human". The most he could do, is short out some Sentinels. Kal El would clobber him in no time.

Ok, Neo is the "One", but why ?
Was he "chosen" by the AI to be the one ?
Or simply, as I believe he affects the causality of the matrix because he "believes" he can ie. deep down inside he knows it is not real.

If it comes down to simply belief in effectiveness of yourself, then even in the matrix, Superman would be Superman, and all Neo could say is "whoa" before a punch send him head fly gone to space leff him body!

I concur with the Skanka. Neo took his inspiration from Superman. There's no way they'd fight. HOWEVER, if they were to fight:

1. Inside the Matrix - Neo would top Superman almost effortlessly. Why? Because Neo is a program element that has fractured from the core of the Matrix program. Neo is the Matrix. The Matrix is Neo. Therefore, Neo could bend the very reality of the Matrix to his suiting and utterly destroy Superman. Utterly... It would be like killing a fly with a hydrogen bomb. The Matrix is Neo's turf. He could make kryptonite out of thin air if he had to. He could hack superman's program and destroy him without fighting him. Neo would pWn Superman so hard, he would pawn his "S" on eBay just for kicks.


2. In the real world - Neo could still CRUSH Superman. Why? He has all of the machines at his disposal. Yes, Superman can do a sizeable amount of damage to attacking Sentinels. But Neo could summon the entire machine army, bomb-sentinels, the deus ex machina, the whole 9 yards, and command them to attack Superman all at once. Superman's only hope would be to exit the earth's atmosphere and bring down an asteroid and crush the machine city before attempting to take on Neo. Then, and only then would Neo be helpless.

I can tell that most of you guys didn't understand what happened at the end of the 3rd movie. Neo was transformed from human to being completely machine code. He was a computer program in both the real and the matrix worlds. That's why he could stop the sentinels, and that's why he could command elements of the system. Neo + Smith = The Matrix.

The choice is obvious. Neo would pWn Superman. So long as he remains re-inserted into the prime program, Neo could kill him with brute force alone. The same could be said of Superman, if he planned his battle strategy carefully.

You need to read some Batman - Superman comics to really see what Superman is capable of (Taking Darkseid to the final barrier at the end of space (The Source Wall) and imprisoning him there), or see the beatdown he gives to him in JLU on C-Network.

I hated S-man since he make Joker get away in the "Killing Joke", but man he rocks out loud recently. The Superman - Batman Comic series shows off his power.

"Superman - Batman" it comes out whenever the writer gets around to it. It is basically a team up series, told from both S-man and Batmans POV.

S-man in yellow thought boxes, with Batmans in blue.

Very good read, you realise they both really admire each other.

If you say JLU unlimited 12 and 13 on C-Network, they have a 2 episode arc, which features some plot elements from the comic series. Like the Source Wall, where Luthor goes to find the anti-life equation Darkseids been hunting for pretty much forever. S-man tell Darkseid everyone he fights he has to hold back, for fear of killing them, but he will not hold back with him, and procedes to rip him a new one. (Think Anime/Matrix style ***-whuppin)
