Ok so I am registered. I would never vote, I think it is pointless and getting the country any better. What do you all think?

Greatis, if everyone decided not to vote because they are not happy with either party, imagine what would happen. If you don't vote you don't have a say. Also remember when you vote that you should focus on voting for the representative that best represent your constituency. Unfortunately, its a misconception by most voters that they are to vote for the party.
Please do consider voting even if you don't like either parties, it is very important that you do so. If you do decide to vote, good luck in your decision.

What do you do if none of the alternatives are good in your opinion? What if voting for any of them would be a bad choice for the nation?

I said before that when you vote you should focus on voting for the person who best represent your constituency not the party. Even if you did feel that way you just have to settle for the lesser of the 2 evils, unless you want to try running yourself or backing another party or an independent.

very interesting topic. Personally I'm not qualified to answer since I'm not registered. However, as AngelsKiss has suggested, it's a matter of voting for the lesser of two evils.

You end up with exactly what we have now ... a party in power barely based on the majority of those who voted but the minority of the eligible voting public. Bear in mind that those who voted typically excludes many voters who aren't easily influenced by free food, beer and a t-shirt ;)

Even if you are focusing purely on individual candidates rather than an entire political party, the question remains, what if no candidate, in your opinion, is able to perform in the desired way? Is "settling for the lesser of 2 evils" really accomplishing anything positive? Why should people have to settle? Why can't there just be good candidates who have integrity and concience?
Why do people put all their faith in imperfect human beings rather than in God?

We vote because we are citizens of the country and we have a say. Whether our vote actually makes a huge difference? Just vote!
It is not a matter of putting faith in man, just like giving unto Caesar what is due unto him. Vote for the candidate of your choice. If not, we going to be in the same boat of wondering when change is going to come and waiting for change.

Well then say a prayer and close your eyes and vote and if that does not work for you then put up a piece of paper with both parties and play dart :p
