I am watching a guy walk down the wall of a high building with no visible aids whatsoever, spiderman style. Before that he came through what appeared to be a solid pain of glass with people wathing from both sides. I've even seen a man in the street (on tele) levitating. Any ideas? Is it merely an illusion?

If you mean David Blaine, the method of doing the levitation illusion is at numerous websites, google it.

His show was heavily edited, cause if the angle is wrong it looks fake, so they did it numerous times and then picked the times he got it right to get the reaction shots on film.

Being an illusionist is damn hard work!

So what about the people standing around marvelling at the supposed performances...are they stooges?

Those are Reaction Shots (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reaction_shot). Illusions when done properly, are amazing to see, esp in the street!

Are you familiar with the story of Moses' showdown with the magic practicing priests in Egypt nester-san? If so, why do you think that Moses' snake-rod consumed that of the egyptians.

Not a bible believer my friend, so I really dunno.
But for arguments sake, if their snakes were illusions (ie. bait and switch types of illusions), moses' had God Power on his side. Which apparently beats illusions/real magic.

But both sides may have had access to some form of reality changing power, and Moses' power (fueled by God) prevailed.

I do believe in true magic though (ie the ability to alter reality WITHOUT the aid of technology). Whether the source be "good" or "evil".

In this day and age where u have microwave dinners and ppl going to the moon, why does anything seem 'amazing' to anyone anymore?

Because the "how" of how some things work are not as readily available to the general population, so they are amazing.

:icon_arro Nester-san. Yeah...I think you've hit the nail on the head there. The priests had illusions and some help from the dark side thereby allowing them to perform many of the things that God himself does. Angels who used to co-exist with God but forsook their natural realm were called upon in the forms of various gods to be worshipped by men.

For someone who is'nt a bible man, you sure figure stuff out nester-san.

:icon_arro Gillion. Spot on my friend, but as nester pointed out illusions can be just a slight of hand and eye that is merely subject to the laws of physics and nothing more. However some of the stuff in some cases crosses the boundaries into the dark spiritual realm and becomes a no-no. :eusa_naug

Remember the powers that satan was able to wield when God allowed him to terrorize his servant Job? Satan is able to manipulate the forces of nature with ease and even man can make it rain or not as the occasion dictates. It is called cloud seeding I think. The russians used to do it a lot in the days of the former soviet union. The americans are doing it frequently by all accounts, then we wonder why the weather is becoming so chaotic. Global warming is caused by man on many different levels.

We may not believe in it but it does'nt stop it being there. There is probably nothing in existence, ancient or modern that has'nt got an attachment tenuously or otherwise to the bible. Afterall our creator won't just go away...thankfully. :)
