question ======> if a user has been banned for what ever reason(s), and that user ceated another account. if the MODS found out, will that user be banned again? :icon_mrgr

Yep, if they were banned for a certain reason, the same person with a different username will most likely do that same thing.
<what would be the point of banning if that werent the case?>

First it depends on the type of ban. If it's a permanent long term ban and the user creates another account then most likely both accounts might be merged and the merged account would be banned.

just to point out also that even if a user who wasn't banned created another user account, chances are they will now get banned.

I know of one business place here who was receiving large amounts of "bounce" cheques. They put a noticed in the paper saying that such names would be published if the pratice continued :eusa_naug

Why should he when certain other Yardies have filled out ALL the applications??? :eusa_whis
I second Bernie's question. Sometimes if a person is banned, we would applaud babylon for taking such a step.
Like say someone who was constantly rude, flaming, and every post have edited cuss words.
There is a certain tone set in here, where even though I am sometimes guilty of disturbing the tone, there are those that push the envelope.
We wouldn't riot if such a smutty minded person were eradicated. It would be similar to our "ignoring" that member.

Those others who might have filled it out, don't really fit the profile we are looking for. lol ;)
Banning a member is left as a matter to be dealt with, with the mods and admins. Not something we want to publicly debate over with the community in case they don't agree with our decision. Friends of banned members majority of the time will argue why we banned someone, no matter if we told them they (the banned member) broke the rules.
It's also not good etiquette to post that persons got banned. I would find that rather embarrassing if I got banned from the site and then the mods announced it. Especially if I have friends on the site.
If you see someone that is causing trouble and is no longer here, then most likely they have been dealt with. No need an announcement telling you that. ;) :)

for clarification - there are other statuses that users can be placed in such as "on probation" which means that their posts are moderated prior to displaying in the forums. These users have a proven record of requiring control in what they post, their title also doesn't change.

You cannot compare that to a cyber environment like CY. Exactly what kind of forseeable danger is associated with failing to announce a member's banishment from the site? And if you were to be told the information so what? What can you or anyone, other than the mods do about it?

Their status remains "Banned"...they can't log in or take part in forum discussions.
A Ban can be lifted at the discretion of the Admin and/or Super Mods.
