Some people spend hours on the computer. And this is a daily activity for them. Would you say this is normal behavior the spend eight hours a day on the computer in forums, chat rooms, msn's. Even while they are at their place of employment. How much is too much time on the pc? And do you think that people who spend this much time on the pc, have a normal relationship in their life? :)

I also spend alot of time on the PC.... Maybe it is the cause of my introvet behaviour who knows.
I would liek to believe it's normal behaviour, none of my girlfiends seemed to complain. Then again they knew what they were gettign into when they first got with.

You know Yatta you just took the words out of my mouth. A person who is a introvert. Would probably love to spend alot of time on the computer. I think this may be true. But unless you are really doing business. I think the time should be limited. You have to have a life to have companionship outside of your PC. I would think you cant make love to it. Right now Im spending way more than my usual time here. I dont mind a couple of hours a day. Maybe two hours. But I think most of this goes on with people who are maybe younger than me. I think Im probably the oldest person on this forum. so my views will tend to be different. I like the forum thing and when I can I come on. Like in the morning or when I can. But its not my whole focus for the day. Because I have to make a living and I have plenty to do. But venturing into other avenues is my thing. :)

I'm always on my PC at work. It's because forums are addictive I don't know why... it's like SOAPS once you get into one... you have to know what's going on, on them all the time lol
How much is too much time? I can't answer that... I'm a post-a-holic... there is no end to posting :icon_mrgr
After I leave work I'm done with posting for the day though... it's awful i know. My job pays me to post it up! lol  :icon_lol:

Oh G... you're intrverted for sure. You like human interaction, but at a distance, unless the person is close to you. At the CY BASHMENT I'll break you out of that.... CRAZY HYPE :p
That's my analysis...Dr.Bashment lol

I am not sure if you right. I have tons of friends or people that think I am their friend. I will walk into a room with a lot of people and at the end of the day my cell phone is full with numbers and starts ringing off like hell the next day. i don't know how I do that. How does that figure Dr. Bashment.

I'll put $100 on the fact that ou of all those people in that phonebook you talk to a maximum of 5, on a regualr basis that is! The girl being one lol lol....
BWT... this doesn't mean that you're UNABLE to be extroverted... I think you probably choose NOT to be most of the time.

I don't think it should be a major concern actually. We live in a day and age where technology is so ingrained in our everyday lives, that it has become the norm to hang around your PC more than you do anything else.
20 years ago, the question would have been: Do you spend a lot of time around your TV?
50 - 60 years ago, the question would have been: Do you spend a lot of time around your car?
75 years ago, the question would have been: Do you spend a lot of time in and around your radio?
100+ years ago, the question would have been: Do you spend a lot of time in and around your horse/donkey/mule/buggy?
The more advanced technology becomes, the more of a "norm" in society it will eventually be.
Do you notice today that there is a very feint line between nerds and extroverts these days? The proverbial glasses, and pocket protector image has all but faded away with time. People who were once considered "nerds" would today be seen as relatively normal. There are technology enthusiasts of the highest order out there today who are just as extroverted as people who couldn't care less about computers. This is how you know technology is a way of life today.
On average, for most people who work in an office of sorts, it's normal to spend at least 6 hrs a day on the PC. Whether or not they're extroverted. If you've been to university recently, that time would have been significantly expanded to at least 8 hrs a day. For the time of hand-written or type-written assignments has since looooong past. Today, college kids can be seen walking around with laptops...
...and believe you me, they prolly spend more time online than most of us. And they're not geeks by any stretch of the imagination. :)

Cyber Weddings even?
Funny you mentioned that. I have attended a cyber wedding already couple years back. The couple were some good friends of mine that I met online and had got to know over a few years. They also met online too, got together in real life and decided to have the wedding online. Just because they didn't want to leave out all thier online friends and not to mention that was where they met.
They also had a real wedding, mind you. :D But it was very cool.

Yup. It was a virtual chat world, where you see avatars of other persons in the chat and you can move around and stuff. They had a real minister (in the real world) using a ministers avatar. The bride and groom had thier avatars especially made. And some of the guests took time to create a avatar fitting for the wedding, but I just went with my original avatar I used, an angel.
The virtual world was set in a huge wooden cottage in the mountains with snow outside and a fireplace inside. It was really cool.
It was really cool and gave me the ability to share in the happy moment of these good friends of mine who lived in the states.
