What do you think of dating online? Meeting a mate online through dating service or chat rooms, forums. I know a couple who met online and are still together after about 6 years. Do you think you could meet your mate online?

I dont know about this I have run into some weird people online. especially in the chat room and these people are really strange. So I really would be very cautious about meeting someone online. But I have heard of people dating and meeting online. It depends on how comfortable you are with it.

There's no substitute for meeting somebody in person and spending time with them. People can be introduced by several means, but it doesn't make sense to pursue a romantic relationship with someone unless you are able to really get to know them. The online thing leaves too much room and opportunity for someone to hide their true self. When you are physically around someone, you can learn about them from the way they interact with you and others. Even body language can teach volumes.
Nothing beats having a real live person around you to date.

Apart for persons hiding what they truly am and feel when they write - I do find that what a person writes tells a lot about them. I feel talking with someone online could be a beginning - for instance if you guys are really writing what you really feel on some issues, then I'd feel really good to know you in person. I UNDERSTAND HOWEVER THAT IT IS NOT USUALLY THE CASE.
