They are not justified in holding the non-Muslim world hostage to their religious sensitivities. They are not justified in holding freedoms such as opinion and expression hostage, especially in countries where such freedoms are constitutionally guaranteed for its citizens. They are not justified in violently attacking and in some cases killing citizens of countries whom they deem as provocateurs to their religion.

They are no more justified than any other group that has suffered mass persecution.
