This is all I need to know... becareful of this guy! It has nothing to do with his Nationality... it's the fact that he's known you for 3 weeks and all of a sudden he's ready to settle down?
Becareful he doesn't ask you to file some papers for him too if you catch my drift!
Keep your eyes open with this guy and trust intuition. Especially when it says to back away a bit..

In getting to know him you will find out that men are men regardless of nationality and they can be prince charmings or scrubs. But, a Jamaican man I love myself....they have good and bad.
So don't listen to rumors, find out about this man for your self and never generalize.
Next, you should also know whether or not he is trying to boops yu out in wantin gto come to the state. He could be real, he could just be that he wants to marry to come here. Watch out!

You know I feel your pain Drew because I know there are beautiful Yaad Men out there that are so good to their women. I love Caribbean men to the core, always have always will!
I will also be completely honest with you and tell you this:
The worst stereotypes, negative comments, insulting comments, and flat out ignorance have come from Jamaicans! It was my friends that were Jamaican females that were telling me negative things about Jamacain men.. not North Americans, not my family, it was Jamaicans saying those things!
So I undersand your pain but, I think sometimes in any community or culture, it's own members are the ones who perpetuate negative stereo types. :(
Sad but true, in my experience anyway.
I think all cultures have good & bad people and to me, it's annoying to continually hear the same negative stereotypes about Caribbean men... specifically Jamaicans.

Sorry to hear this, but it is the opposite for me. African Americans, Latinoes and even Caucasians have the most negative things to say to me. The Jamaican men appreciates me more. Then again, this is my experience also.

Yes I find that a lot of cultures have stereotypes in their mind about Jamaicans and Caribbean people in general but JCB when I ask them "Where are you getting THAT information from?" everytime with out FAIL! They always tell me another Jamaican told them that! They've never had a Jamaican man as a friend or boyfriend, yet they have ALL of these awful things to say. They heard someone say something and they believe it.
I can tell you that even when I told my friend I wanted to go to JA in November or April 2005.... she told me all kinds of things. I'm going to get attacked, raped, blah blah blah! I mean if I wasn't of Caribbean decent I may have actually listened to her! People like that make my belly turn really!!!
Long story short... I hear a lot of Jamaicans that live in Canada now SLAM JA hard. They say terrible things because they're SELF-LOATHING people!
I love Caribbean people period! They raised me, they loved, me and made me strong! I love my Caribbean men too, I wish people would stop putting them down verbally I really do!
