Appleton Treasure Island (ATI 2007)

OK folks, this is where you all should come to give your views about ATI. In this thread you can post past experiences at last year's or earlier ATIs.

Experiences leading up to the event can also be posted, for example, the exodus of people from Kingston to Negril.

Please feel free to share the experiences that will occur at the upcoming 2007 ATI session which is scheduled for August 3 - 7.

Here's the formula.

1) Rhythmic music (music that has a strong beat) - This brings about a conscious or unconscious decision to move to the beat. (Gyrating, Bouncing and straight out dancing).

2) Suggestive lyrics coupled with the aggressive steady beats - This will cause the pleasure centres of the mind to be incrementally kicked into action.

3)The female gender is usually skimpily clad - This coupled with the gyrating body parts which are now showing through tight or skimpy apparel will also increase the activity in the pleasure centres of the mind, especially in that of the male.

4) Large gathering of people - This creates a euphoric effect which will sweep over the entire crowd, (there is strength in numbers). The large crowd just magnifies and multiplies the feeling of euphoria in each and every person present, some more than others.

5) Alcohol - If any inhibitions are still left, those who consume moderate or excessive amounts of alcohol will eventually break loose from their mental boundaries in the charged atmosphere.

Couple all these factors together and you will get an event that will cause people to do things they would not normally do. Rest assured if they don't do anything physically, they are still definitely gorging the pleasure centres of their minds using their imagination.

The excuse that is given when the line is crossed is that it was just for fun and entertainment. Go figure.

This is true of any event which incorporates all the factors mentioned above. Oh I forgot to mention that ATI is specifically marketed for people under 30 specifically 18 - 25 so we also have to take into consideration the high hormone level and immature frontal lobes especially in the 18 - 21 bracket. This just complicates matters more.

The truth is that events like ATI have two main goals. Profit and Marketing. Marketing ties back into profit so the supreme goal of this event is Money.

The provocative atmosphere is simply being used to generate money. Pleasure is probably the cheapest and easiest way to make huge amounts of money, especially in our era of the 21st century. All those patrons who think ATI is just one big party are simply being rounded up like cattle so they can be milked and then desensitized for further and more expansive future exploitation.

It's a bit more than 10k still. That would only cover the season band. With room, food and clothing added .. . everything goes well over 20k. I missed it last year cos I had to be searching for apts in Kgn. The year before was crazy though and this year gonna be even more off the hook. See you guys there! :eusa_danc

The RTI one is 9500 though. Plus it has the more popular parties (Wildsides, Daydreams, Stages etc.). You don't have to worry about alcohol because most of the parties on both bands are all inclusive or alcohol inclusive.

Lol. You know surprisingly I wasn't all that tired. I was even gonna go to work yesterday but I had to stay home and do laundry. Trust me I could go for several more rounds. Never went to any of the ATI parties. They said a lot of teenagers were at the RTI ones but I honestly never noticed., Nothing gets in between me and my money's worth.

Friday - Tempted: WICKED, MAD, CRAZY! Had sand all behind my eye ball and never remember how it happened.
Jungle Madness:Never went cos I passed out from Tempted

Saturday - Daydreams: Food did done every minute. Look like people did have fun still but I was hungry and when mi hungry. . .mi cross and vex.
Stages: Not one of the best ones. It was obvious this year that money did tight cos they hold out on the food big time. It did well pack up though
Colours: I doubt I can find any adjectives to describe it. Those who were there. . . "RED BULL!". Mi fren u sell awf! lol.
Temptation Live: By the time I left Colours. . .this did done.

Sunday - Wildsides: This did ram like whoa! I swear everybody from Mandeville plus tax was there. Craziness. . I stayed far from the foam pit and I still got wet. . .pure alcohol and ting. Can I say I wish they had more parties like that. The yute dem body did stay good!
Xtatiq - Pretty in Pink:TUFF, TUFF, TUFF. . .and well pack up like the rest of them. I still waiting on my pink blackberry all now the selector don't 'take my information'. I got ripped off badly. But it was still fun.
Temptation Live: Again. . by the time I left Pretty in Pink this was over

Monday - Went home :(. Burger King was good though. . .first time I ate since Friday :hungry:
