:dwl: You mean it makes it harder to faas :p. Who does 'background checks' via social networking sites? Sounds like some stalker behaviour to me. The private profile feature is meant to keep all the pedophiles and losers off people's pages. I've disabled the feature whereby people can add me as a friend because I get requests from people who I have never seen in my life.

The whole point of Facebook is to keep in touch with your friends. When it originally started, it was opened only to college students or members of some legitimate organizations. Now every monkey can join and 'poke' and message people about stupid crap. It really is becoming quite annoying but not because of the privacy features. The exclusivity is what used to set it apart from Myspace and Hi5. Now, whenever I adjust my privacy settings, Facebook tells me that it is too 'restrictive' and it will limit my ability to 'meet people'. Duh. . .that is the point :eusa_wall. Only losers try to make new friends in that medium anyway.

I agree, all the applications are so annoying and unecessary. Yea, making friends online hardly ever amounts to anything.
