So I tried my hand at making a cheese cake, cause I kept hearing how everyone loves cheese cake but they are expensive.

I found a recipe in a Caribbean cook book I have and although I had a frustrating time separating the egg from the yoke :eusa_wall and wasted a few good eggs trying to get it right :eusa_wall I finally made it. I thought it would turn out not so great, but after the comments I got back, seems it turned out good.

I don't eat cheese cake but darn, this tasted good when I tried it. lol Only problem was the crust was too crumby. Next time I'll add more of the melted butter to keep it together.

Now this recipe required that I bake the cheese cake for 30 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Friends are telling me I don't bake cheese cake, you chill it. So I guess you can both bake and chill.

Anyone else tried making a cheese cake? Want to share the recipe? Advise?

Mine turned out looking closely like this:

I've seen a few cooking shows and the best way to separate yolk from whites is to drop the eggs into the palm of your hand and let the whites slip through your fingers into a bowl. :)

Found this: http://www.ehow.com/how_2640_separate-egg-whites.html
And that was what I was trying to do. Pour the egg in both halfs and let the white drip out. But was still getting some yoke into the bowl. Did juss seh, cho a likkle egg naa go kill di white. So I whipped the white same way. And it turned out ok.

Didn't know cheese cake can be baked but damn that cheese cake sure looks yummy. The thing I don't like about cheese cake is that if I eat it too much I start to hate it.

Next time I'll find a non-bake one and try it. And probably try a different flavor. This was a classic one as they would call it.

Yeah you can bake and chill cheese cake. Baking ones normally taste better. No recipes to suggest as I have yet to try my hand at baking a cheesecake. Good job A_A but next time.... post an actual pic :)

Good job A_A but next time.... post an actual picI would have, but the camera isn't close by to have taken a pic. So I found one that closely resembles what I have. Trust me, the pic there isn't far off from how it looks. Apart from the strawberry topping dripping down the side of the cheese cake and the crust a little crumby. :D
