Hey guys, I just wanted to start a little thread here where those of us who are into out culture/roots can give us some information. Therefore if any of you know common, ole time expressions that you grandmother always tell you such as:

"Those who don't hear will feel"

or

Every mickle mek a mukle
Oxford Dictionary (10th Edition) has the phrase as being
many a little makes a mickle (also many a mickle makes a muckle) and it means many small amounts accumulate to make a large amount.

You can feel free to quote them in our own language first and then standard english, because we all knwo that some of them might not be understood by visitors to this site. :eusa_whis

Also try to put them in a paragraph by themself, bold and italicize them, thanks.

oh and another one is:

Same knife wha stab sheep stab goat

and

If yu can't catch Harry yu catch him shirt

and

What good fi di goose no good fi di gander

I guess you all get the drift of what nees to be done now. Please feel free to correct me on any of the phrases I quoted that sem incorrect to you.
