But seriously, Asafa is a disappointment. I think his season of success in running is coming to an end.

I don't want to be a band-waggonist and jump on the Bolt train leaving the Asafa train behind, but I think that Asafa's camp needs to sit seriously down and re-strategize. It may be me but I'm seeing Asafa slow down just before he crosses the finish line for his past few races. Could it be a mental block that he needs to hurdle?

I suspect it might just be a strategy to get all the attention off him, we all know Asafa can't handle the pressure at big events, the plan, slow down at the finish line just to run 2nd or 3rd in these low level meets and have everybody write him off as washed up, and then at the appointed moment catch everyone by surprise at the big meet in August by smashing the world record at 9.66

you wish!!! it's not the pressure of expectation that causes asafa to blunder, it's the pressure of competition. as long as there is a 'big' name athlete in the race, asafa will be lucky to cross the line in third place.

LOL ... good try If that were the case then he should know that consistently ranking low in placements will result in poor lane placements.

Gay says he feels "boring" next to Bolt

"I'm itching to run. I can't wait," Bolt said today, as relaxed and confident as last year when he set three world records on his way to Olympic titles in the 100, 200 and sprint relays in Beijing.

By that time, Gay had seen his season ruined by injury. Now, both men say they are at their peak, convinced the winner will likely run away with a world record as well as a gold medal on Sunday.

"He's already shown the world what he can do, but I haven't shown all my talents yet," Gay said today as both athletes had competing news conferences which highlighted Bolt's showmanship as much as Gay's seriousness.

At the Yaam Beach Club on the Spree river in Berlin, the reggae was blaring, the bamboo bar was moving drinks and Bolt was promising to produce a new dance act if he wins the world title at the Olympic Stadium late Sunday.

As a joke, he had two rubber arms attached to his back already making the iconic bow-and-arrow move when he came into the sweltering body-packed press conference.

"I set a standard for myself. I have to live up to it," he said.
