Atlantis on Paradise Island is a very nice resort. I'v stayed there myself. Yes it is expensive, but I dont think all the rooms are $1000 US per night. It depends on the room and its ammenities. The Bridge Suit where MJ stayed once goes for $25,000 per night . Private butler and all. Ah the lives of the filthy rich.

To each his own. I am not telling anyone where they should vacation or spend their money. If I have the money I will pay for the luxuries, others may not. There are some destinations where individuals pay twice that for a night in a 5 star hotel. The lives of the rich I tell ya (I will hopefully be one of them soon).

Yes the first post did rub me the wrong way. If you criticize at least have all the facts straight. It seemed deliberately harsh and uneccessary to say the least, but anyway, I know how it goes.

But seriously...even if you had the money...why would you spend so much of it to go there? Just to say that you went there? I'm sorry, but there are more beautiful destinations about the globe at a fraction of the cost. I believe in bang for buck, no matter what. What do I get for $1000US per night? If I had so much money and knew not what to do with it, I'd give it away. I can't possibly feel well basking in such luxury...unecessary luxury at that while someone on the street up to the hotel has to be hussling to find his rent or food for his family. Thats just me...and besides...I know I'd have more fun at Disney for $1000US. I'm not knocking you for your taste still but as for me, thats just not something I could do in good conscience. I bet the $1000US is just foir lodging. What about food? Souvenirs? Snorkeling? Parasailing? To each their own as you said my love. Take pictures

True, but who knows how one would feel if they became a multi millioinaire or even a billionaire. Expectations and taste changes. Hell if I became a multi millionaire tomorrow (Donald trump, Bill Gates rich), who knows I may buy an entire island just because I could. You could give all of your money away, and poverty would still linger on this globe.

Anyways I am not trying to advocate that you or anyone on this board vacation in my island, it doesnt matter to me to be quite honest. But if someone wants to spend $1000 a night at a Hotel in the Bahamas, more power to them. Individual tastes varies. Cheaper dont always mean better.

The same can be said about exorbitant prices too I don't wish to eradicate poverty...lol...we all know only the Father in heaven can do that....but passing someone on the street on my way up to the hotel...that is in face...right then and there....my conscience would kill me. i went to 3 of the islands. went to nassau and atlantis. went to another place called blue lagoon, but i'm not sure if thats a different island altogether or just a suburb.

actually bahama mama (btw i now know the deal with your name) i did a guided tour and there wasn't much to see there either. honestly i didn't take a good look at the names of the streets. so i won't comment on which streets i did or did not go to.

Nassau is the capital city on New Providence Island, Atlantis is a hotel on Paradise Island, and blue lagoon, is a cay off Paradise Island. When the tide is high, it is an cay no more. I commented on the origin of my name in the signatures thread or something of that nature. But in any event, I stated my points and comment on the very first thread already.
