Bahamian Terrorist Attacks PREPARATION

After the Sept. 11 tragedies, the question has arisen: What would happen if Nassau were attacked? A valid concern, but there is no
Comparison - the Bahamas is much better prepared for such attacks.

For example:
1. There are no tall buildings downtown for planes to fly into. We burned down the only one (Ministry of Tourism) just before the
attacks.

2. At 08:45 a.m. no one is at work yet. Those that have arrived have left to get breakfast. Unless the terrorists would plan to bomb
The drive-thru at Wendy's or the lines of people getting stew fish out of the back trunk of a car in the parking lot across the road there will be no one to kill.

3. Firefighters and police officers will of course take their time getting on the scene. When they get there, they won't have any mask or other protective equipment, and there will be no water in the fire hydrants. When the building collapses none of them will be hurt, because they were watching the explosion from across the road.

4. Only a fool would think you could plan a coordinated attack using four Bahamasair planes.

5. No Bahamian would have cowered in the bathroom and used his cellphone to call home. He or she would have burs' the terrorist with it upside his head and break off running.

6. Terrorists would find that Nassau is not a good place for a terrorist base. After trying to get a phone line from Batelco, standing in line to get a license from Road Traffic and trying to drive anywhere, they would give up and go somewhere else.

7. The night before when the terrorists were trying to study the flight manual, BEC would have turned the lights off.

OTHER REASONS WHY IT WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED HERE:

- The girlfriend of one of the terrorists would have told her sister-in-law who would have told her coworker who would have told
somebody else, and the whole plot would have been on the front page of The Punch.

- The hijackers rental car woulda get tief long time.

- When the hijackers pulled out their knives, the passengers would have laughed and pulled out:
(A) bigger knives or machetes,
(B) guns,
(C) cement blocks,
(D) all of the above

Most of the caribbean countries are not too different when it comes to way of life.
