    Thumbs up Poverty declining in Dominica says World Bank

    ROSEAU, Dominica: The number of persons in Dominica living in poverty has fallen, according to a World Bank report.

    The report entitled Towards a New Agenda for Growth, Organization of Eastern Caribbean States says that the percentage of the Dominican population living in poverty is now 33% as compared to a figure of 39% in the last Country Poverty Assessment conducted in 2002.

    I wonder if this has anything to do with the increase in prostitution? I hear the girls over there are foine... and cheap. Just like Cuba. You wouldn't believe the things you can get for $5US

    It would seem like Venezuela is stealing a march on the US in helping out it's neighbours. I hope Dominica isn't a toy for better off nations to play piggy in the middle with, but are genuinly finding a worthwhile way of lifting themselves up from the poverty trap. All the very best to them in any honest endeavors they make.
