    Default Bahamas to Cuba?

Is there a way to get to Cuba from the Bahamas other than via Jamaica?

Jamaica is your best bet. Because of close relations with the US, you probably won't get a straight flight from the Bahamas and any other method would take longer unless you can find one that goes through T&C or Haiti....?

This information is incorrect. Our close relations with the US does not hamper direct travel from the Bahamas to Cuba. Why would it? We have an embassy in Cuba, and many Bahamians travel their yearly for medical treatment and vacation, as well some Bahamians school there as well.

Cubana Air makes direct flights from the Bahamas to Cuba. I assume you are in Nassau at the moment. There are many travel agencies in the yellow pages through which you can book a direct flight. Two travel agencies in Nassau that deal with flights to Cuba from the Bahamas in particular are:

    Havantur: (242) 393-5282/394-7195

    Cuba Tours: (242) 325-0042/325-3349

I assume that you would only have to go via Jamaica if you were taking Air Jamaica.

Forgive my assumption. I assumed jagirl had already tried getting flights to Cuba from the Bahamas before searching for alternate routes.

    Thanks guys for the info.

I actually am in Mobay not Nassau. Friends of mine are flying into Nassau from the States.

They wanted to visit Cuba without having to fly into Jamaica. I had checked Cubana's site and didn't see a flight out of Nassau. Since there are regular Bahamian posters on CaribYard, I thought I'd pose the question here...

I am indeed grateful for the contacts for the Travel agents and shall pass that info along.
