    Default Population and ZPG

Every day the population of our countries increase, putting a strain on schools, roads, utilities, land and other resources. Even with Family Planning, most people feel the need to breed.

    Is enforced ZPG the answer?

What? ZPG? ZPG is Zero Population Growth meaning 0 births for a given period, perhaps indefinitely, until the population thins out. You can find out more by searching for the term on Google.

Zero Population Growth is dependent upon so many socio-economic factors, especially in developing/3rd world countries where such factors are less than favourable. I think in their case it would be a challenge to enforce, while in developed countries they naturally lean towards the ideal of ZPG because of more favourable socio-economic factors. Factors like access to education and economic opportunities greatly influence people's sexual and reproductive practices.

Which is why enforced ZPG could be an option.

Under legislation, anyone having any children born after a certain date can be fined or jailed and be forcibly neutered. The system would be self policing, in that people would 'talk' on their neighbors, informing them of any breaches.

Is the intent to enforce such a policy across the board?

If so, I don't think such a legislation would ever be enforced in Western societies, most of whom operate on a democratic model. There is far too much lobbying power for the liberties and rights of the individual. Were too ingrained with the notion of self to ever submit to such a policy. Forcibly neutering persons is dehumanizing in my opinion, and has the potential to be enacted on only select groups seen as socially undesirable.
