KINGSTOWN, St Vincent:Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves is contemplating taking legal action against a woman police officer and her lawyers now that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Colin Williams, has withdrawn the charges of indecent assault and rape against him.
Now that the DPP has taken over and discontinued the two private criminal complaints against me, I am duty bound to assess with my lawyers all the legal options. I have been advised that I have several probable legal courses available to me against Ms. Andrews, her lawyers, and other persons, including those who have been defaming my character on radio and elsewhere and of which I have been keeping a scrupulous record,” Gonsalves said in a statement on Tuesday.
