CASTRIES, St Lucia: On March 09, 2008, St Lucians from various parts of the island felt an earthquake on Monday, this was confirmed by the Seismic Research Unit of the University of the West Indies, which confirmed that the earthquake occurred about 2.49 p.m.

It had a magnitude of 3.2 on the Richter Scale with a depth of 16 Km. It was located at latitude 13.9 degrees north and longitude 60.9 degrees west. The National Emergency Management organization (NEMO) received reports that the earthquake was felt in Monier and White Rock.

Reports reaching Caribbean Net News indicated that the event was felt in Garrand; Caco Girard; Fond Assau; Morne Du Don; Cap Estate and Corinth. The most recent earthquake was felt on February 6, 2008.
