The players from england should be able to instill that discipline in the local based players....if that is accomplished we can go a long way.

Looking at the teams around now the mexicans have weakened some ....the US dosent look as strong as they did in previous years but will still manage. I think we have some of the best if not the best attacking forwards in the Concacaf region.
our defence needs some work still and the midfielders need to speed up the transition game a little, but thta said we have a balanced unit who should qualify without the need for a playoff.

overall jamaica can qualify second to mexico this time round.

You know your stuff. We have a solid defence in terms of players but they are not defensive minded enough and they are not fast enough to making the kind of the runs they see on EPL. Our midfielders are really slow with one and two exceptions like Mr. Speedy Gonsales himself, Jamaal Campbell-Ryce. The number 4 from Portmore is good too. What he lacks in speed, he makes up for in precision passing. Luton, Burton and King are very efficient infront of goal, especially King. Fuller needs to get match fit. He has the power but lacks the sustained speed and finish. He will beat all 11 players, bring the ball to the byline, cut back and then always kick the ball away. We need a better Keeper too. Rickett is good and the Portmore too but we need more athleticism from them. Also they need better positioning.

All in all, the weakness we have can be addressed. The US's downfall is that they do not respect the CONCACAF region. Most of us are way down the bottom on the FIFA ranking so the US essentially feel they're not being tested and wasting time qualifying. You could see it in their body language against Barbados. Especially Landon Donovan. He even made a comment that he doesn't like the format because of the teams the US have to play. He should be glad. If it weren't for us, they would never have reached 5th in the world for 06 and be 21st now. I think we can surprise the US and beat them just because they don't respect us.

As for Mexico, Sven has a way of starting off exceptionally well, then teetering off. I just hope that by the time Mexico reaches us, the teetering off would have already begun.

I use the British spellchecker in mine. Hate getting red underlines for words that use an 's' instead of a 'z' and 'ou' instead of 'o' when I type.

In relation to the Landon Donavon issue he has somehow managed to become their all time leading goals scorer and leader in assists(i could be wrong on the goal scorer title) but he has absolutly no use as a striker . he has scored a few penaty kicks and fumbled in a few others but i honestly cannot see the reason for the hype surrounding him. I doubt he would get a start over Fuller or Shelton were they part of the USA setup.

LOL and to say he has a problem with the format in CONCACAF. Ask him when was the last time the US won a game with a team outside of the region? I doubt he could recall that.
They stole Canada's Gold Cup, they were routed in South America and they are used as Gineau pigs for the second string sides in Eruope....Mr.Donavon needs to take his head out of his *** before he goes off running his mouth. And Iay that with all due respect.

On a side note Grenada not doing too badly recently , drawing with a central American team after beating Jamaica.....Is it only me or is the gap between teams in the region getting smaller.

Yes he is the leading scorer. He is also the leading scorer in MLS for Galaxy. Beckham makes him better. As for the gap, yes it is getting smaller as football is no longer confined to European television and South American backyards. I'm sure people like Bibi playing on the little dirt patch never dreamed that he would be on the same pitch? Our players are playing all over and gaining experience.

Donovan is just arrogant. Typical American. They have however beaten a number of teams outside the region too. They have beaten Switzerland and drew with Spain right before the Euros. They're not that bad but nowhere near as good as they think nor where FIFA ranks them. Imagine, the US is ranked higher than Ukraine, SWEDEN, RUSSIA and Ivory Coast!!!!

Hope they don't allow the Bahamians to score before the game ends in the next half hour. Feels good to see them actually playing together like a team though. They seem a bit more mature.

    Cheers to the BOYZ!!!
