    Point well made Mods.

That statement should NEVER have been made. It shows how little regard is placed on the lives of people.

I wonder if 'God Forbid' a police killing takes place in his constiuency what his reactions would be.
dem call me hot steppa .....mudera!

Similarly, anything I post in the capacity as a moderator, will be viewed as the opinions of the administration of the site. While each person is responsible for their own postings.

Being part of an organization, as BCK said, unless they say, they are NOT speaking on behalf of the organization they are working with, everything said is considered the opinion of the administration of that organization.
There is hypocrisy in here (but I don't expect him to admit). I can't remember anyone from the previous admin. ever say such stupid things, but their actions followed suit. there were numerous police killings that were never investigated, and the officers were never charged or even fired under their watch. Yet, I can't remember once that BCK post about a sad day under 'Portia's bruises'. That's hypocrisy.
I am not advocating for this admin. The man said some stupid and senseless things and I was mad just as anyone else, but for some people this was just another reason to persue an agenda.
You know what?! Just live everyday as if it's your last.

What is your agenda bernie? The only reason you would not want to see Nelson's statements for what they were, is if you had an agenda which would benefit from letting his comments slide.

Because I call a spade a spade and speak out against a govt. Minister who stupidly uttered offensive and disgraceful comments about the citizens he is supposed to serve and protect, I am a PNP supporter with an agenda? Good grief people! WAKE UP!

It is not the first time that representatives of this administration have made stupid, reprehensible utterances at official functions.
Mr. Warmington had told Old Harbour residents that if they did not vote for the JLP, they would not receive hurricane-relief cheques.

Member of Parliament for South Central St. Catherine, Sharon Hay Webster, wants the House of Representatives to establish an ethics committee to consider "appropriate action" against the two state ministers who made the alarming comments recently.

Mrs. Hay Webster, in a motion to the House yesterday, urged her colleagues to sanction both Montague and Warmington for their "reprehensible" utterances.

She said their statements indicate an intention to misuse public funds to induce electors, which constituted a breach of the laws of Jamaica.

Mr. Montague expressed regret for remarks he made on December 2, when he told residents of Portland that their roads would not be repaired if they did not vote for a JLP councillor.

If this govt. can't keep it's ministers from saying stupid things in public, then they need to step down. How can you put faith in leaders who display such contempt for you?

Please...and don't twist what I have been saying. I repeatedly said his utterances were wrong, and that I was (as much as everyone else) mad at it. My issue was that you used it as an opportunity to attack the PM, which you never did while the other admin was in power. (I went through as many pages as I could with those links you provided...so maybe I missed suppm).

Yes, that was very bad...however....I don't know if you saw this and forgot to mention...

    See more here...

I am not putting my faith in this government, but I am willing to give them an opportunity to redeem themselves. After all, the other team showed me contempt, for all of 18yrs. I do believe that they have major work to do; major restructuring...and I think Nelson should go. I want the government to work, see their mistakes and correct them. If I have any agenda, that's it.

And rightly so. No one from that administration at that time, made any public utterance as offensive and disrespectful to the people of Jamaica as Nelson did.

When did I attack Bruce? I asked why is he being so silent on the matter. That is a valid question. He should be publicly denouncing what Nelson said. The fact that he hasn't, speaks volumes about him, and it isn't positive volumes either.

So if you're keeping score, that's PNP - 2 bad utterances, JLP 3 - and the 3rd one deserves special weighting for being especially heinous.

It is your perogative to support who you support. It's your right. Can't fight you for that. I too have right to voice my opinion, and I will continue to do so.

Oh, so because no one made any utterances as disrespectful as his, then no one could be called out on their irresponsibility and lack of leadership in a time when many Jamaicans felt safer with a gunman that those who vowed to serve and protect? I love your reasoning!

You attacked him when you mentioned him mocking by saying....

I also think he should have said something with regards to Nelson's utterances. I also believe the PNP should have openly condemned those many cases of police brutality and unnecessary killings...but they...for the most part....remained mum. Now that was cause for great concern, but I guess you forgot to mention that in your posts you dug up earlier.

Search the board. I've been calling for accountability for those in authority from long time, and from both sides.

Were you as disturbed when people were openly attacking the previous PM? Since this govt. came in, tax gone up, food gone up, gas gone up, nuff jobs get cut, industries shutting down, more pressure on the health care system, people's promised wage increases haven't been paid, and certain crimes (robbery, theft) have been increasing in frequency. Yes, we're suffering under Bruce's bruises.

I strongly doubt that the govt. remained mum on police brutality. What I am sure about is that the previous administration did not publicly appear to condone those activities, or express the views that the loss of life or negative impacts of the war on crime on the lives of Jamaican citizens is "collateral damage" for which the police should not have to pay if they were the cause.

I wonder when the PNP took over the country 18yrs ago, what the economical situation in Jamaica was. I wonder how stable it has been over the yrs, when our neighboring Caribbean countries were growing economically. I wonder if crime was on the decline over those years. And you talk about job losses, food and gas increase and all the other blah blah? well..news flash...it's happening world wide. However, I don't need to tell you what's happening around us now. Before we had this crazy recession, the previous admin wasn't able to keep our dollar relevant, nor stem crime, nor secure our jobs. Unless, of course, there is another Jamaica I don't know about.

You strongly doubt? so you are not sure? Well if they did, wouldn't you, the ultimate watchman know? Oh...I suppose someone would have had to make a statement with the phrase "collateral damage" attached to it before they could be held accountable.

No berns. You need to do a little more than make wild accusations without evidence. Go do some research first.

Jamaica's problems did not start 18 years ago. The JLP did its part to wreck the country when it was in power. Go ask your parents. Do some research. None of the parties hands are clean. It was Seaga's govt. that started off the debt headache our children's children will have to deal with. Read this

You're getting silly now bernie. The fact that you don't know of it doesn't mean that it never happened. I'm sure I have heard PNP politicians speak out against police brutality.
