It's not going to be like any Stargate you've seen before. It's gonna be more gritty, much like the last BattleStar Galactica series.
The new series in the stargate trilogy starts tonights at 8pm on SyFy.
I dunno if I gonna like all these new characters. I miss my old stargate actors. But we will see.

Five minutes into it SyFy cut out. Probably Cornwall Communication's fault. It just came back.
From what I saw, I have very little trust in Dr. Rush. He seems to know more than what he's letting on.

Pfff. Show got soppy at the end. Seems like they were gonna dedicate half an hour to consoling this girl about her dad.
Ah well. When I saw the time ticking, figured it was going to be continued.
The theme for future episodes seems set:
1. The spaceship is intent on a non-stop tour of the universe, stopping only a few hours and only when there is some urgent need or request for stop.
2. Getting off at some world, there may be some reason for staying there. If so, time runs out - the bus leaves and you're stuck there for eternity. So for continuation wherever they stop will have some reason for leaving.
3. They will obviously meet humanoid and non-humanoid creatures on their journey and see wonders and dangers.
Basically, this is a revamped version of Space: 1999........

I think the last 5 minutes of this show was the most entertaining and was all I needed to see until next weeks show.
Dr Rush is a real pain in the you know where, and even gives me a headache listening to him and his attitude. I almost think the actor playing him got a headache from doing this episode. Sheesh.
So finally they are heading into a star, with no power aboard the ship except from the little shuttle they have. Shuttle can only hold what, 15 ppl? So the rest will have to die. lol Great! These people are ready to kill each other, now they have a great excuse to do so now.
I doubt the storyline will move to the shuttle. Most likely scenario: The star was the intended target for the ship, not the gas giant. The ship needs power, and where else to get it but from a star? All it needs to do is deploy solar collectors to replenish its batteries. It probably has enough shielding to prevent all on board from roasting alive.
